abbadabba's Journal, 29 May 18

Current Way of Eating summary:
4 to 5 cups of fruits or vegetables daily.
Good fats: olive oil, avocados, nuts
Low-fat dairy: skim milk, fatfree yogurts, tasty cheeses. Lean meats, including chicken, beef, fish canned or fresh.
Incorporate beans: salads, hummus, used as wheat flour substitute
Avoid wheat to try to reduce inflammation which causes arthritis pain flare-up - currently seems to correlate so working on that.
Avoid high carbs of potatoes, breads, pasta, rice. I don't completely cut these out, but eat sparingly, not every meal like I used to.
Avoid granulated sugar - honey, maple syrup, molasses sparingly.
Exercise:
Dancing 3 hours or more per week - up to 400 calories per hour burned.
Strength training - averages 4 times a month, at 350 to 400 calories per session.

Also cutting out avocados, because my pets can't eat them and they keep trying to steal them when I eat with them. Parrots suffer liver damage or death from eating avocados.

Happy Tuesday all - work hard at your new lifestyle.

sounds like a good plan. Watch the fruit, they hinder weight loss if eaten too much! (been there!)

Not bc of anything with the dog ( more to do with my laziness) but i get individual guacamole packs. Yes they cost more but they last longer without going bad. This helps me bc i am only one person and i do change my mind about what i want to eat. I think wholly guacamole makes one that is just avocado. Can your pets open the fridge?

@jengetfit123 - so far they haven't opened the fridge on their own! They don't like each other so they won't work together, luckily. I am not that sad about missing guacamole so no avocado for now - maybe in the summer with cold dinners I will get the little packs - they have them at Costco all the time.
