I'm happy that I'm the same weight, but it was a weird week of intense activity or low activity! I had cravings for cheesecake or brownies, and ate both this week. I've just realized that my seasonal allergies are kicking in from afternoon sore throats, and sudden drops of energy at dinner. My evening activity has been nil, oh dear! It was an appointment week, which cut into my regular flow as well.

In general, I went high fat deserts but with good moderate meals, I even slow cooked a boneless/skinless turkey breast in a crock-pot for the 1st time. It was a very uneven week in this sense, but more calories than usual. It'll all balance out in the end, but I just want to document it in case I suddenly get a sudden rise in weight next week.

I think this is the 4th week in a row with no weight gain and I hope I'll lose the extra COVID 12 pounds I gained as I return to school/work soon. The one mantra I have is that I'm in it for the long-term, so a few weekly fails on the desert front won't add up to much in the long term. I started at 185, and got rid of 40 pounds before re-gaining 13 pounds during COVID. I'll stay mindful, push myself when I can and be at peace with myself in my weak moments. That's life, right?

Have a healthy week everyone! We got this!

Yes! No weight gain!

I've been boosting up my movement again this week, although I did have 2 passive days. I completely cleaned out my pantry and food cupboards, it had piled up over the year. I never emptied anything before I switched onto my current diet so I had quite a few expired cans, baking supplies, condiments, and salad dressings! My pantry looks wonderful now, I can see everything. I was surprised that my entire selection of off-beat cooking oils and vinegar had a short expiry date. August always hits me as the last weeks to get my annual jobs done before Fall. And so I'm getting on it, lots of lifting and purging.

Three weeks before I head back to work. I'm looking forward to being busy and active again - it's good for weight loss, lol!!

I've also started re-potting my outdoor jungle, to bring things in soon, more lifting and digging.

My steps are in the 7,000 range - but I've done lots of carrying and lifting and packing instead. I'll work on a new goal of aiming for 10,000 steps at least 3 times this week. I did eat chocolate and chips twice this week, but have been having fresh salmon more, and greens and preparing small batches of wild rice and quinoa to throw over salads. I'm aiming for 1,200 calories most days with 2 cheat days thrown in.

I hope everyone is well and coping in your social bubbles. Being outside on walks and gardening has been a lifeline for me. I'm dreading the wet and cold seasons to come. I like winter, but hate fall.

Take Care

Yay! I can finally say that I ate reasonably well this week! I think working on my pantry and sorting out all of my outdated spices and dry goods/cans really let me see what I have, and want in my pantry. I had about 3 old jars of never used mayonnaise type dressing that I haven't touched since I started this journey over a year ago. I had so many products that were hoarded on the back shelves that I just don't use anymore and haven't since I started my weight loss journey.

I also purposefully increased my activity this week. One block is .6 kms, so I power-walk for 3 laps and this gets my heart rate up to peak (yes! I'm that out of shape!!) on hot humid days. It's fast, 22 minutes and something I can do several times a day. I've also noted how much faster it is wearing proper running shoes instead of my birkies, or flip-flops, lol!!

I've also been prepping whole grain rice, pasta, and Quinoa/barley etc... and tossing them with chopped fresh veggies and spices (curry powder, yum), so I can just add BBQ Salmon, or chicken to the mix. I'm loving stir fried fresh salmon with a touch of Kobe marinade from Farm boy.

Most of my days are in the 1200 calorie range again, but yesterday I had my cheat day and ate chocolate and chips.

I've been stretching out in the pool, and moving a lot of boxes this week, coupled with my power walks on top of regular walks. My active minutes have gone up to 90 minutes a day.

Now I just need to maintain this activity to feel great.

Cheers to all!

Monday: 5,824 steps and 61 active minutes. Tuesday: 10,101 steps and 91 active minutes. Keeping up with my dedication to get more active, after 5 months of relative inactivity. My block is .6km, so I do laps 3 laps @21 minutes and I'm in the Peak zone, that are easy to fit into short bursts and get my cardio up. Then walking the dog is just leisurely paced, so I get regular leisurely strolls in then.

The size 10 shorts I got in April are snug (I was prefering loose linen sack dresses in the heat in July so I didn't notice the size change up to size 12 again)!! Again it's all in the torso for me!! It's the most dangerous fat they say.

I go to the pool, I'm allowed 30 minute stints due to social distancing, but I prefer just stretching out my body and treading water, so no laps.

Best of all, I've refrained from chocolate bars and chips since last Friday. I curb it by eating yogurt, almonds, and granola.

I hope to be more fit for September when I'm back at work!
