I'm a 53 y.o. 6'2" tall Anglo male of Polish, English and French-Canadian descent - I have been on here years, when the site was almost new... I noticed most of my initial friends but a few are all off. The more one journals on here, truly the more one stays in line with their weight goals. Some people found other diet sites, including Atkins or some other forum, but for me this has been the best one. The photo is from early fall 2012. I am retired military now, and I live modestly, so money is no problem. I need to lose a bit, and am a former licensed practical or vocational nurse (I got the license, which I no longer have by challenging the California board in 1990 with my military experience as an Air Force medic). I read Spanish nearly fluently and speak it fairly well. Now I'm trying to become a published author, and am seeking a literary agent and have written three books. I have three completed and typed novels and ready for submission SOMEWHERE soon. I am single and not dating and at the age it doesn't matter anymore. I have had no success so far getting a literary agent they often do not want to take a risk on an unknown writer nowadays with the fragile book selling economy. Despite my terrible grammar sometimes while writing on here quickly and not editing it, with my books I'm much more careful proofreading things. I adopted a Cairn terrier-mix dog Feb 2, 2009 named Toto. NOTE: PLEASE DON'T MESSAGE ME IF YOU ARE UNDER 18-yrs.-old, it is only appropriate for adults to correspond... Thanks to the FS people who provide this service! I need to lose 25 pounds by the end of the year - maybe 15 by summer. It is March 2013 now and I am ready for spring! I am doing the genealogy of my family now as of December 2013. My mom's side was done by an aunt. On my dad's mom's side it goes to Anthony Colby who came to Boston in 1630!
