Ate too much yesterday but actually went ahead and logged what I remembered. It was the schwarzwalder dark rye bread. 4 slices of toast during the day. I will try for just one slice with coffee this morning. I need to get to a point where I can keep some foods in the house without eating so much. I can do 1/4 bagel, 1/2 English muffin and 1 slice of toast with most breads. But not this rye bread. Hope I can accomplish this today because I don't want to throw a $5 (on sale) loaf of bread away!

I love rye bread. I like the light seedless kind though.

Thanks Abba I put the loaf in the freezer and planned on one piece of toast with coffee today. So far I haven't had toast. Maybe if I get hungry later. Today is going good so far, but it's only 1pm

Morticia I like all kinds of rye bread! Used to love ham and swiss on rye with mustard. And patty melts made with toasted rye

If I have rye bread I want it to be filled with all the makings for a Reuben!

I thought about getting some corned beef because of the St Patty's Day sales. I'm not much of a fan of corned beef but my husband and daughter both love Rubens. But I do enjoy the rye bread I to eat it toasted with sauerkraut and mustard. I know it sounds weird, but it's a lot more enjoyable than it sounds (I get the stone ground mustard as well as seeded rye bread so it's very textured as well.)

Apparently, you can make sandwiches 🥪 in ruben style with turkey and their called a Rachel...neat huh?

Thanks Shir! I've never had a Reuben sandwich. Hate sauerkraut. Corned beef is okay but I never buy it. Think my doctor might consider it processed meat. I buy the dark Schwarzwalder rye bread just for toast!

Thanks Leah! I know my sister makes corned beef and cabbage for Saint Patrick's day. I stay away from hervhouse that day. I hate the smell of cabbage cooking and hate the smell of sauerkraut, ever since I was a kid
