Fritzy 22's Journal, 11 Jan 24

Had a cup of coffee this morning, first time since January 3rd. I had hot chocolate every day since then but I have no milk in the house this morning. I messed up last high so went over on my calorie and carb goals. I usually have my last meal of the day around noon - 2pm. Yesterday I had a small portion of left over roast at 10:30am. I had 5 saltine crackers A little later and that was supposed to be it for the day. But I got so hungry and around 6pm I saw the sleeve of crackers on the counter and ate the rest of them, I'm guessing on how many. Then I put butter on 3 of them! Hope to do better today. There is still a half a box of saltines in the house. I need to stay away from them! Working on another chronic problem I have, drinking enough water. I've been heating up glasses of water which I find easier to drink.

I walked Bobby yesterday, A short walk of about 3000 steps. Did 4000 steps on the walk the day before. Just can't walk too far with my knee issue. Yesterday was so windy and we got rain on and off most of the day. Today I need to go for a knee X-Ray and pick up my new glasses. The optometrist office told me the glasses were ready about 2 weeks ago but I just haven't felt like driving the half hour to pick them up

I can't imagine not being ravenous if all I ate was a piece of roast, some saltines & a cup of hot chocolate all day. I don't know how many calories you're aiming for, but are you sure you've set a realistic goal for yourself? Give yourself some grace that all you are was more crackers. Maybe something more substantial would prevent hunger pangs.

I love crackers. Can't resist them. Especially with cheese or butter or peanut butter. Bad weather on the way here.

Good luck on your trip to center. I finally make it to town yesterday after by isolation period. Had lots of packages from amazon to pick up and got some fresh produce.

Thanks Sherry. I have the crackers in the house because my stomach has been irritated for about a week. I having been scrambling 2 eggs in the morning with one or 2 slices of American cheese that I bought for grilled cheese sandwiches. I had pumpkin seeds as a snack for more protein. I usually come in close to 1000 calories, mostly because I don't eat dinner

Morticia, I love crackers and normally keep them out of the house. I was able to stick to just 5 crackers on 1 or 2 days but I normally just keep eating them.

Thanks Liv. I need to get ready to get ready to go for the X-Ray. I'll run a few errands when I go. I get lots of packages from Amazon and Chewy, but they are delivered to my front porch. I'm glad you are feeling better!

I wasn't criticizing your choice to eat crackers. I often have them, but usually with some hummus or cheese. If you ate eggs, etc., that's good. I was just hoping you weren't trying to cut back too much. 😊 I hope your tummy issues get resolved. Mine was feeling a little bit off for a couple of days, too. I think it's better today.

I hate when I walk by something and it literally calls my name and tells me it's ok to have a few...( yes my food talks to me) I swear my container of nuts does that and before I know it I've eaten way more then I should. I have to put that kind of stuff away. It's done and over, start again and it will be ok. 💜💜

Crackers are my Kryptonite! If they’re in the house, I am aware of it and it is almost impossible to leave them alone. I am ashamed to say that I have put an entire sleeve of saltines away (with butter) in one sitting. Ugh. I rarely keep crackers in the house anymore, because I know that eventually I will get into them and then it’s so hard to stop. And yes, good with everything…cheese, cream cheese, peanut better, etc. Forgive yourself and move on!

Thanks Sherry, I didn't think you were criticizing anything. I felt the same way about the small potion of leftover roast. I just wanted to let you know I had more to eat yesterday. I am fee!ing a little better today, I even bought my favorite salad mix on my way home from getting the knee X-ray.

Thanks Diana! I am that way with pistachios. Haven't bought more since that time I was putting them in the garage refrigerator to keep me from getting to them. I'm okay with small portions of raw nuts like almonds and walnuts.

Thanks Broccolibabe, don't be ashamed - I have eaten a sleeve of crackers too many times! I forgot about cheese and crackers, I love to put butter on them more than anything. I like to have them around for when my stomach feels funny, but it's usually better to keep them out of the house. Either saltines or Ritz crackers.

It's so good to read the banter of all you gals. It warms my heart and soul. I love saltines and even had a box in my hand within the last week. But it has been a couple of years since I bought any because they would be gone in a flash. I love them in every way possible but my favorites are in tomato soup and Oyster Stew/Soup. Next would be with butter and peanut butter. They are comfort food from childhood, but I want to lose weight now. I will remember them for the future if I get desperate. It's actually nice for me to think of alternatives available. It's also nice to be able (as of New Year's) to be able to choose a higher road.
