Debbie Cousins's Journal, 10 Jan 23

Wanted to eat and eat and eat yesterday - all things I didn’t need. In addition to my healthy grapes, cherries and honeydew, I had 1/2 serving of cashews, TWO servings of Peppermint Bark Pretzel Twists and a “break” of KitKat! Total calories for the day: 1,650.

Today will be even higher - in the 1,900’s - because we are going to get Pecan Pancakes for lunch. It also comes with 2 eggs and 3 pieces of bacon, but we will eat those 2m0 on toast as sandwiches. I’m dividing my pancakes to have 1-1/2 pancakes for lunch and 1-1/2 for dinner. Including the syrup, it is over 600 calories for each meal.

Thankfully, my weight was still down a tad this morning! The fruit is keeping me “regular,” which helps.

It's all so complicated, isn't it? It's hard to include the things we want and still lose weight. It amazes me that you can do it. Power to you.

Yes, @HCB, I too think portioning is important. I never sit down with a box or a bag or can of something because I will just eat mindlessly until it is all gone. I put a serving (4) of the Pretzel Crisps into snack size Ziplocs. Problem is, after I've eaten one serving, I go back for another. I'll be out of those in a couple of days, so that temptation will be gone. Ideally, besides fruit, I just want to eat one break off a KitKat bar for my snack each day. That used to be satisfying. @Snowwhite, it would be so hard for me to have to do like you do - eliminating sweets altogether. When I make it an "all or nothing" thing, I will do the "nothing" for awhile perfectly, but then I fall and fall HARD into the "all" category and have a really hard time getting back on track.
