Fritzy 22's Journal, 09 Jan 23

For the last 10 days or so we've had one storm after another. I can't keep track of them. I think the total rain at my house is more than the last 3-5 years combined. The wind is scary. Power went out at 2:20am - my dog Bobby barked when the smoke detector on the other side of the house chirped. I had escaped power outages until then. Power back on at 6:30, so not too bad. I haven't been sleeping. Very little sleep Friday night, zero sleep Saturday night, but maybe 6 or so hours of broken sleep last night.

Following the WOE is difficult. I'm out of fruit and almost out of vegetables. Probably won't get to the store until the rains stops, Im thinking probably February or March. So I'm using what I can find in the pantry and freezer.

Thanks Liv! And thanks also from Bobby and the kitties! I finally got Bobby to go outside at 9:45 this morning when the rain stopped. E dry time I opened the door beginning at 5am he would just step backwards after realizing how windy and rainy it was

Thanks Morticia and Navywife - there is a break in the rain, finally so I was able to make it to the grocery store for enough to get me to Friday at least.

It was raining here yesterday, but not any bad storms. I had to pick up a prescription (Pain meds for my shoulders/arms) so I went out. Picked up some groceries while I was out. Glad you got a break so you could get your groceries.

The last two storms that hit us last week were something else weren’t they! The second was kept waking me up with the rain and wind pounding on everything. We were close to hurricane winds here, we’re they slightly less at your place? I know I have miles of fence to repair/replace once it dries up a bit, so like in April or May. Those storms did a number here. Glad you are weathering them well.

Are you going to be ok? Is emergency management available if required?

Thanks Sherry. It was so nice to get to the store. I have plenty of food to eat it the pantry but I was able to get fruit and veggies and milk to make it easier to stick to my WOE. I also have a prescription, but it hasn't been filled yet

Thanks Daddy. I don't know how string the winds were but they we scary. I thought about sleeping in the family room where there aren't any windows because I was worried the slider would break. I think I'm located in a sweet spot. While there are a few creeks in my neighborhood none are close to me. And it's very hilly here. My house is at a top spot so I get some big puddles but no flooding so far. Glad you are okay.

Thanks Jackie. I appreciate your concern. I'm okay and my house is okay. I'm retired so when they say on the news to stay home if you can, I stay home

Great! I know Bobby was happy! My older yorkie is not doing well. Took him to the vet today. Blood results not the best. Taking him to a bigger vet out of town tomorrow. Stressful! One day at a time is all we can do!:)

A very dangerous situation. Is it possible to have groceries delivered? Stay safe Fritzy.

Stay safe! I know the storms have been bad where you are! As far as WOE, we'll just do your best till you can get to store. 💜💜

Thanks Navywife. I hope everything goes well for your York's with the new vet. It's hard when our sweet pets get health issues

Thanks Shir - I was just feeling sorry for myself when I wrote that the rain won't stop until February or March. That would be a normal winter but not so much all at once. It did stop raining before noon and has been nice since. More wind and rain overnight. There is just a little grocery store in my community and they don't deliver. If I can't drive there they couldn't get to my house. One reason I keep plenty of canned food in the pantry and meat in the freezer.

thanks Diana - I was happy to get to the store after I wrote my journal. It some fruit and the vegetables I need to make a chicken and vegetable soup. So I don't have to eat baked beans for the next week.
