Fritzy 22's Journal, 05 Jan 23

Is this only day 5? I'm already getting tired of the new diet. Getting headaches, which I never get. Assume it is caffeine withdrawal so I may have a cup of really boring unsweeteded hot tea later to see if that helps. I'm not craving bad things just don't feel like cooking all the asparagus and brussels sprouts, etc in the fridge. I keep meaning to ask the grocery store if I can buy a smaller amount of asparagus besides what they bundle to sell. It's at least twice what I need. I'm enjoying the fruit just don't feel like cooking the veggies every day, I am making just enough for one meal right now. Waiting for the avocados I bought to get ripe enough to cut. Trying to figure out how to work this diet to something I can really stick to.

Also getting tired of all the rainy days after years of praying for rain to end the constant droughts. Big storm overnight with scary winds but at least the power stayed on where I live. As soon as it gets light, if the rain stops, I'll go out and walk all over my lot to see if any tree limbs or any other damage happened.

Don’t think of it as a diet! Think of it as fueling your body in an effective and enjoyable way. For me, counting calories helps me lose weight easily without feeling restricted. I have any food I want as long as I don’t go over my calorie limit for the day. I even drink a regular coke now and then!

Fritz, I was talking about sherry vinegar, but a little sherry might be good also.

Thanks Navywife! Tatescrowe -diet or WOE, it means the same thing. What's new starting January 1 is that it is a diet to reduce inflammation. Would love to work in a coke, but added sugar needs to be avoided. Although I might cheat for a coke.

Shir, that makes sense but I might try the red wine. I rarely drink but have an open bottle on the kitchen counter that I used to marinate a chuck roast awhile back.

Goodness, Diet and no caffeine sounds like a lot at one time. Almost all fresh veggies can be cooked and frozen in individual servings. Some, like avocado can be simply peeled and frozen. Spend 1 hr, put on your favorite music and make snacks for the week. And breathe...You've got this!

I freeze asparagus all the time. It works well.

Thanks Trisha.I've been dieting for a long time! I just changed from a low fat diet to an anti inflammatory diet that my doctor wants me to fol!ow. So now I can have avocado, nuts and olive oil since they all fight inflammation. I can drink coffee, just don't like it black. I'm having a cup of hot tea now that is unsweetened. Hoping the caffeine will keep the headache away!

I guess buying fresh is better but I am hooked on Birdseye's frozen Roasters and some other varieties they have. You can roast chicken thighs or breasts in the same pan and dinner is ready!! Sooo good too.

Mom2Boxers - I've never seen frozen Roasters and just buy packs of chicken breasts at the grocery store and them freeze them in 4-6 ounce portions. Usually I end up cooking them in the wok, sometimes I bake them and I'll even use the George Foreman grill once inawhile
