Fritzy 22's Journal, 11 Oct 22

I am re thinking my WOE. I am up 3 pounds since I met my first 15 pound goal and set a new goal. Actually 5 pounds because I didn't set the new goal until I had lost 2 additional pounds. Intermittent fasting has always worked for me until recently. For years I didn't eat much in the evening, often just having tea and toast for dinner after work. So having an eating time of 6am to 2pm worked well. Now I get really hungry in the early evening after all my eating should be done. Since going low fat I gave up or reduced some of the things that would help keep me from getting hungry - string cheese and raw almonds in particular. I think I am going to not call it IF and try to have just some soup around 4 or 5pm hoping that will keep me from getting hungry in the evening. I am going grocery shopping today after an appointment with the eye doctor. I made a list - for an hour or two the only thing on it was "grapes" and I will avoid the bakery isle as well as the chip and soda isle.

I do and (that is not an invitation to marriage Slyone 22) I do - that is more than enough of a portion - I cannot make it through the night unless I include a light meal at 9 pm - or I tend to binge about 9 hours after dinner - because I get hungry and when ever I am hungry - I always eat food. I eat 2 tablespoons of oatmeal (cooked) each night with a variety of differences - sometimes half a grated apple and cinnamon - tried different fruits - yogourt and nuts and granola - even starbucks french vanilla coffee flavouring (that was good) and always 2 TBS of All Bran - I put and mixed almost every thing I could find with my evening oatmeal - that works for me until the next morning and stops me from getting hungry.

IF does not work for women like it does for men nor is it the same for both seniors and younger people. Good subject to read up on.

Slyone - usually when I am craving chips the snack size just isn't enough. I really have to avoid them altogether. Same with Oreos! I love dunking them in a glass of milk. Thanks Navywife - can't wait for soup weather! We are having temps in the mid to high 80's this week but it is supposed to go to the low or mid 80's next week. Not soup weather but still fine for a can of tomato soup.

Thanks Jergens - I did okay yesterday, having soup around 3:30pm and then some grapes around 4pm. I did give in around 7 and had another 6 raw almonds. Not too bad. I'm usually asleep by 9pm. I wish I could eat oatmeal but I just don't like it, I think it's the texture. I know it is really healthy and filling. Thanks Kenna - I haven't done any reading on IF, I just know I usually don't like to eat much in the evening. I prefer going to sleep on an empty stomach rather than full.

The one thing I struggle with is feeling hungry. Sometimes I have to just suck it up and call it a day. A big glass of warm water and a cozy bed reading is far fewer calories than any other plan. Good luck - I am too indulgent myself so don't have any other ideas.

Thanks Abba - it's hard not to eat when feeling hungry. I also find warm water can be filling.
