guess what FS fams!!!! got a job offer yesterday 🙌 on 1 of the 6 jobs I applied to not exactly what I was looking for but I'll take it for now better than nothing.Pro's I'll have good pay, 4 day week Wednesday off, 32 hrs full-time, 10 minutes commute , 1 provider 4 MA's, private office not a hospital, the cons No benefits only bonus pay room for growth, primary care office not urgent care but I realized I need to slow down not speed up it is what it is. I don't know if I made the best decision but we'll find out other jobs I need to call today and cancel my interviews for tomorrow one of them being at the allergist office where I get my shots wanted to hire me after a previous coworker put in a word for me ugh that also sounded very promising and does include benefits also 10 minutes away but I took the one who offered me first is better to be secure than sorry. The others on the line were Pediatric office 10 minutes away as well but very long hours and every other weekend then receptionist 30 minutes away that's a 👎 no, then staffing agency temporary to permanent in a hospital and lastly administrative in a homecare who has 50 other applicants long wait. I start in 2 weeks hopefully foot feels better by then and I get good news in my follow up appointments.

I remember when you were debating the long commute vs. work schedule and stress level on a couple of those. This sounds like a good compromise and not as hectic as the job you left. Congrats to you!

Congratulations, sounds good, too bad about benefits, but you're secure until you find something that's a better fit. Close to home, four-day week and good pay are big pluses.

You'll be wanting those benefits, so keep searching. Maybe they'll give you more at the new job if they like your work.

Benefits = vacation days, holiday pay, health/dental insurance (once employed, your income level will disqualify you from any free state plan). I would NOT cancel any interviews! Having options is always the better plan.

I admire your integrity on cancelling the interview tomorrow. Too many people these days would have taken the interview despite having accepted the other position just in case they got a job offer. Have seen it happen here one too many times, someone's been hired and then either not shown up or notified us the day before they were due to start that they'd taken another job. Best of luck with private office, and hopefully that bonus pay covers decent healthcare.

That sounds really good for you - I would work for lessor benefits if I just had to walk across the street and I have done that in the past...well - my real life out ways (<---purposeful) any work benefits every day that I ever go to work for anyone else. Congratulations on your new employment and good luck with new position - Go get em!!!

Even if you DO have an offer why not go on the interview for the job you really want? Unless you signed a contract with the first place you are no obligation to them other than letting them know you have changed your mind.. It's the medical field! Jobs aren't quite so plenty for MA's as they are for nurses but employers are hurting and are getting used to hiring and people not staying. One more point to consider:::if your friend had to put a word in for you that usually means the place does not operate on a revolving door. My last full-time job::: you did not even get an interview let alone an offer UNLESS you knew someone. And that "someone" had better be one of their favored. Good luck to you!!!!
