224.5 lbs this morning - good news is that's 5.5 lbs less than yesterday, bad new is I'm still 2.7 lbs over my Friday weight. Today will be a repeat of yesterday, fasting until sometime this afternoon, limited calorie intake, and drinking lots of water.

try weighing yourself ONCE a week. Checking your weight every day or so won't give you a clear picture of your overall progress. Instead, you'll see water-weight fluctuations, stress effects, un-eliminated "waste" weight, etc... and you'll be driven to make unnecessary changes to your daily regimen much too often before positive results have a chance to take place. So resist getting on the scale for a week at a time. :-)

I weigh every morning but I only log the Friday one. I have gotten really good at guessing my weight in the morning based on what I ate or did the day before. I don't chage my diet based on the daily weigh in's, but it does help motivate me to exercise more if I need to make sure I meet my Friday weigh-in goal. For me, daily weigh in's keep me honest. However, there is merit to what Alowe82 says. Everyone is different and you have to try every option to see what works best for you.

Alowe, I do the same as Bigbass, I officially weigh in every Friday, but I do weigh myself everyday to monitor progress. This weekend is the perfect example. I had one planned day of high calories and one unplanned day. I found out Sunday morning by weighing myself that I kicked it up nearly 5 lbs from the two days. After a decent day yesterday (could have been better), I knocked off almost half of that. So I know I have at least two more days where I must watch what I eat closely and make sure I get my walking and exercise in. Once I weigh in at or under my last official weigh in I'll feel better and could work on a drop for this Fridays weigh in. It does keep you honest and motivates you too.

I weigh every morning but only record on Fridays. I understand the day to day fluctuation but like weighing daily so I know where I am and can evaluate where I need to be if needed. I fully expected the big gain from Saturday, my purpose in putting it in my journal is just to have a record of it if I ever want to go back and also to keep myself honest. It's good to know how I need to adjust after such an eating extravaganza and helps me plan my next few days accordingly. Ultimately I'd like to go to an event like Saturday and have better control...being a dessert judge didn't help in that matter. But it sure was tasty. I had fun, now have to pay a few days for it with fewer calories.
