BuffyBear's Journal, 08 Jan 14

I don't impress easily, but this time I am blown away!

I am referring to the results after one week of following the 16:8 plan. I have not changed my diet, but eat all my food (with the exception of black coffee) within an 8 hour window. Sounds too simple?

The results: Amazing appetite control! Me, who is always hungry, looking for snacks, and cheating on my WOE is now a model of self control! I averaged 1205 calories per day.

And, best of all, I have lost 3 pounds (am usually lucky to lose 1 pound/week). This will be my new plan for 2014.

View Diet Calendar, 08 January 2014:
1135 kcal Fat: 73.45g | Prot: 75.39g | Carbs: 50.16g.   Breakfast: Coffee. Lunch: Cooked Broccoli (Fat Not Added in Cooking), Butter, Pork Chops or Roasts (Center Loin, Bone-In). Dinner: Ground Turkey (Cooked), Birds Eye Sugar Snap Stir-Fry, Coconut Oil. Snacks/Other: Clementines, Apples, Emerald Natural Almonds 100 Calorie Pack, Coffee, Coffee. more...

WTG :) I've read articles where they say it's good to change your diet and exercise routine. This way your body doesn't get used to it and you "trick" it--LOL. I can feel how happy you are just by reading this post! Yayeeee!!! Congrat's!

I'm trying this, but haven't got it down pat, yet. I let people get in my way and again I ate after 8 pm last night. Just a cabbage salad, but still... I'm going to do better today. Your results are great. Stay warm...

What 8 hour window do you eat in? My problem is that I'm always hungry in the morning, but don't eat dinner until 7-8 most nights, after the gym.

Yay; that sounds great! I'd be screwed though since I get up at 4; I'd have to be done eating by noon.

You found "your" magic pill. That's all that matters. It works for you.

Rocky - I know it isn't for everybody. DH would never be able to follow it either!

Bren - I am just mad that it took me so long to try it!

Jilzee - I have thought about this being "just a gimmick" - but who cares if it works?

Sarahsmom - thanks. Nice hearing from you.

Draglist - I am sooo full after dinner that I am sure I have done something wrong - LOL.

dboza - the beauty of this is that the times are not set in stone. I went out to dinner Monday and finished around 7:30 pm so I just pushed next day's breakfast back to 11:30 am. If get invited to breakfast I'll just adjust the rest of my meals accordingly.

Way to go! So nice to see that scale moving the way YOU want it to. I naturally eat that way more so now than earlier in my life. Since being on FS I am concentrating more so. And I have found that the low carb, high protein also helps. Good on You - nice to have found your groove!

I have been seriously considering doing this plan too but didn't know of anybody who had tried it. I am flip-flopping between the 16:8 and the 5:2 plan where you eat extremely low calorie (500) two days a week. I think both are considered intermittent fasting. Thanks for sharing!! I am particularly interesting because it is not considered a diet but a WOL. Congrats. I hope you will keep us posted on how it continues to go.

Tracy - thanks. Wouldn't you say it was about time?

Gnat - I usually eat between 10 AM and 6 PM, but adjust it for "life's circumstances". Is there any way you could eat dinner before gym?

Dairyking - I understand - it is not for everybody. My DH would think he was being tortured - LOL .
