A low fat twist on butter chicken.
Ingredients
Directions
- Heat some oil in a wok. Take the defrosted chicken breasts and cut them into cubes or thinly slice.
- Sauté chicken until no longer raw and put on a side plate temporarily.
- Sauté garlic and onions until translucent then add the chicken back into the wok.
- Add sour cream and coconut milk (optional, the curry will still taste delicious).
- Add tomato paste, curry powder and butter chicken packet. Add chickpeas and let cook on low heat for about 10 minutes before serving over brown rice.
- Note: adding cilantro is also optional if you want to jazz it up a bit. If you feel you need more of any of the ingredient, just add until you like the taste.

Good recipe but I think the calories are WAY to low. This is based on 3 very small chicken breasts- the three I used added up to a pound, for 560 cals vs. the 360 used here. Also, its only calculating 1 serving of curry paste for the full recipe- not the 1 packet I think is intended. These two changes bring it up to 300 or so calories.

If you have ever had real butter chicken, or even chicken tikka marsala...You will enjoy this dish...The hard part was finding the Butter Chicken Paste...I had to research what exactly that paste is made out of, and made it from scratch because now where around where I am sells it...Because I made it from scratch, it turned out to be a little weak in flavor, but overall it came out really well...And I will make it again for sure!!!

This dish was an interesting taste. A lot of different things going on. It was not bad but it was not what I expected. The curry with coconut had me thinking that I did something wrong with the sour cream...I ate it but I had to get use to the taste. I made the kids eat it too. smile.
