maxie4's Journal, 09 Mar 18

Well FS friends /family I had stated that I wasn't weighing until 3/11 which is this Sunday...spring forward day... and my last weigh in was 2/11 but it was a short month and its now been 32 days according to my Mr pester you to death its weigh in time on the top of the page.
So if your not aware I had chosen to do a monthly weigh in recently for several reasons...
1. I'm sensitive to certain foods and the fluctuation drives me more crazy than I already am...I hate to watch when on the scale constantly that I had gained one day and lost it the next.
2. I am a very slow loser of weight....also to that I have been doing tons of research on myself trying certain foods out so weighing daily was a great way for fluctuations again and that wasn't what I wanted..
I didnt weigh myself when experimenting with foods at all...I had just went by how I was feeling.. like did it cause feelings of bloat certain foods I had eaten or did it not had it had an energetic type of reaction when I ate that certain food or did it not create that energy I was in search of..
You would be surprised at what you will learn about you when doing research like that.
3. Being a slow loser that for some reason I do feel more productive at the loss and my goals when my number is a larger amount of a loss than .5 lbs weekly.. yeah... I know...I know... a lost is a lost...
During my month of not weighing I did measure my waist.. hips ..and thigh... often to have the knowledge that I was still going in the right direction...
4. This was my main point for committing to the monthly weight recording..
I don't have much self control...and after fall begins...I just forget any right way of eating at all and then after 3 months of stuffing myself ..its my 20 plus lbs. weight gained again ..it may sound small to some but as I related many times to everyone I'm a petite build so it definitely shows and I feel really awful health wise too... and it dose take me forever to lose it back again.. this was not the correct way to handle this...it isn't good for me health wise either.
what way to teach yourself to be in control but to trust yourself ..
I trusted myself to stay off the scale and to go by mainly how I was feeling and to be accountable for myself...
Well... my FS family and friends...it did work for me, not weighing for a month...
I'm am now currently as of this mornings weigh in
I'm at 141.4...I have lost 5.8 lbs... in a month... so that is just about 1.4 lbs. a week ..
I will definitely take it... its even going to come off even slower now during this month as I get closer to my goal and I'm aware of that..it happens every time:)
My measurements as of today are 129.75-waist...137.5-hips and 20.5- thigh....
I'm still working on my March Madness goals... to continue to drink lots of water and I'm getting better at this daily..
of course to journal and continue to figure out my way of living for life plan for me..
also now that injured ankle is able to tolerate it more I'm beginning to incorporate a exercise regimen and I'm ready to begin to start doing Zumba again this is my way to a better and stronger body.. got my dvds laid out for me yay!....
Well everyone... have a fantastic weekend..Im working this one myself but I'm thankful that I can...see you out in the posts... tons of my support and love to you all xoxoxo;)

awesome !!! I'm tempted to get on the scale weigh more frequently than I should I think it's an instant gratification thing but losing weight in a healthy manner is not something that always provides instant gratification I worked up from weighing myself every other day to once a week and I'm always happier with what I see have a fantastic weekend and job well done!

Thank you Vmartens14....It does work for me but others have said they feel like a daily or weekly weight works better for them...its individualized for everyone and just to understand that and support everyones choices is the key imo;)

Maxie4 that is a very healthy amount of weight loss. It took me a couple of years to lose the 50 pounds I needed to lose but on the plus side, it has stayed off for the last 6 years. I gained 5 pounds a few months before I signed up for FatSecret because I went off of my hormone pill. I have lost about 4 pounds since joining FatSecret and I know I will keep it off. Be patient and stay the course. You are an inspiration!

Great job!!! I dont weigh in, I dont have a scale that will accommodate me at this point. We have a 1000lb scale at work, but I am not going to weigh myself in front of everyone so thats out. I can see my changes though, my loose pants, my shirts are way too big, I am walking better, breathing better. I love it. Congrats on your drop!! You are amazing!!! Keep it up!!

Mike...it isn't at all imo about the scale..I must learn to focus not on the weight... but the way I feel throughout the day.. as we become more seasoned..ha ha the main focus seems to become more on our health and happiness... so tons and tons and tons of laughing and cutting up for me please ...that's why I have such a bond with you my mentor...your serious about your health and others health also but you can cut up with us while we are all on his journey to feeling better...you are also a huge inspiration to me .
