Timg2500's Journal, 02 Mar 17

Ok. So I'm honestly really disappointed in this weigh in. I've not only leveled off but I'm gaining a little bit on my trend at this point. At the calorie intake that I've had over the last 7 days according to my estimated metabolism of 2,300 and calorie deficit, I should have LOST 1.15 lbs in my trend and I've gained .3 lbs. Hell, over the last 14 days, I should have LOST 2.0 lbs almost exact according to CICO and I've gained .1 lbs.

I know these are minor numbers, but the major issue for me is that IF I'm logging correctly, then my metabolism is either closer to 1,650 calories per day which makes NO sense especially with how active my work day is and with working out 3 days a week, or I'm not logging 500-600 calories each day.

I'm also disappointed because I'm on a 29 day countdown to goal of 10-12% BF and losing ground. I also REFUSE to sacrifice LBM by just cutting calories to basically nothing and reaching goal by fasting. It's just not how I want to live my life. I also don't want to push my goal date again because I failed to reach it.

So in conclusion:

1. I'm frustrated
2. I need to adjust
3. I need to pee
4. I'm going cold turkey on ANY processed sugar.
5. It's goal finals time.

Thanks wannab. I also noticed that a big change in my diet from when I was losing in January to how I started leveling off in February is my lunch. I went from a 300-450 calorie lunch to a 400-600 calorie lunch. I'm wondering if that affected my IF at all.

if your allowing sugar into your eating habits...will make you crave food you normally dont eat..or it does me...best thing you can do is refocus ...todays a new day

How much water do you drink in a day? Maybe increasing water will help. Also, if calories are too low, increase for a few days, then back off again. Change it up so your body is confused. Best of luck.

You are singing my same song, buddy. I agree - do not sacrifice LBM if you can help it. It is the age old mystery though, losing fat while maintaining muscle. This is why all the books talk about cutting and then bulking. I am female and age 62 so I can only work on fat loss right now while I continue to lift as heavy as I can which helps maintain most LBM and increase my BMR overall. It is possible you ate something with more sodium, need to drink extra water or your trained muscles are holding fluid in the repair mode and you will see the drop tomorrow. Stay with it - #hero

my weight went down quick when I went cold turkey on sugar-no fruit or anything, so I support that, but it's hard. I allowed it back by accident and gained the weight back-so it's a slippery slope with that...good luck buddy!

You are like me. When we put in a lot of work and am told how to do it, and are faithful on our end we want the other side to pull their fair share (the system numbers). Unfortunately we know at best it's a great approximate, and herein lies the rub. You are so close, and it is working, but for whatever the reason (your own unique metabolism) you'll have to adjust the caloric intake a bit. No worries, I'm fighting the same battle. Hang in, and push through.

Maybe your calories are slightly too low? I've heard doing too much of a deficit can cause stalling? Keep working, you'll get this! :)
