wannabhealthier's Journal, 07 Jun 16

Sometimes I write my journals a day ahead …goooooooooood morning everyone..i was prepping food up Monday morning so that if an when I came off my fast..it would be done.. and tuesdays journal popped into my mind..ive told couple of people around town..that I know.. that ive refocused an gotten back on track of what with my eating..naturally they always ask..and how are you loosing the weight..are you walking again, riding your bike, going to the gym..when I say im doing lchf…theres always a pause in ther voice…so…today I decided..that anyone else that asks..im just gonna tell em I have cut back on my eating, by eating healthier foods, and smaller portions…be nice if they understood but they don’t..one friend is a doctor and his wife.. that I often see when im riding in the mornings..ive told them in past talks..that I just cant eat a lot of carbs an loose weight…my body just doesn’t loose weight if I eat carbs..or a lot of them..the other is a friend that I ride with from time to time..that doesn’t need to loose any..hes already in shape, just needs to firm it up some…unlike on here…most people on here have been in my situation and they understand and I kno that a lot of times..if someone hasn’t been in your shoes..then they don’t understand the situation..so ive decided to just tell anyone that asks…smaller portions and healthier eating habits..enough of my babblin for todays journal…just had to put the thoughts that came to me down so I didn’t forget it..while I was preppin food ahead.. while it was still fresh im my mind…hope everyone is doing great..and have a greatttttttttttttttt day…the end…lol..

The reason why they are probably pausing is because as soon as you say high fat their brains are probably scrambling. Who would eat a diet high in fat? Has he lost his mind? And, there is NO way he is losing weight eating fat. Most people, who I know, are afraid to eat fats in their diets and avoid it like the plague. Secondly, you owe these people NO thorough explaination nor should you have to defend your choices in regards to your lifestyle changes. It works for you and that's the bottom line. In my experience people shun and fear things or concepts that they don't understand and/or that are so foreign to the popular mainstream. My husband can eat loads of carbs and he does fine.........I can't. And you're correct, people who have never struggled with weight or food don't have a clue and would rather just put all the blame on no willpower, when in essence maybe the person hasn't found the diet and/or exercise regimen or lifestyle changes that suit/suits his/her body. Diet and exercise regimens aren't created equal and all bodies aren't alike. This process is trial and error.

Honestly I've lost weight in spurts with HCG--so I would get lots of "advice" about how bad that is, etc. Now that I'm back on track and everyone says that I look great and how did I do that, I just say, "Everything that you like to eat and drink, you can't." Then they say they can't do that and the conversation is over without any backlash!

Makes sense to say cut back on portions, etc. People go for that. LOL!

Why people worry about or question the choices of others is beyond me. If you ask for their opinions, then that's different. If your choices aren't affecting them then why should they be critical or questioning?

@MOM............No, if Wanna said he was eating no fats and eating only things made "fat free" with the portion control they would be ok with that. The words eating more fat are throwing these people for a loop. @BikerT.... :)))

Agreed ...even here where we all are trying to get healthier and should be more understanding of the differences and separate challenges each of has, we see folks who assume that what works for them is the WAY and aren't very accepting or understanding of other diets. LCHF works, as do many other diets or ways of eating...if someone finds a way that works for them, hats off to them...this is seldom easy, that's why I'm here!
