kitty-eared-girl's Journal, 03 Jan 16

Much like many others on here, the holidays got the best of me. Lots of sugar with no exercise has me at a weight I haven't seen since June 2013. I'm furious and horrified, but even today's weigh-in is better than where I had been.

I was at 176.4 12/28. Sometime between 12/28 and today I'd weighed myself at 177.8. I've been utilizing our treadmill every day since 12/30 and trying to be better about what I put in my body, which saw the current weigh-in (which is actually a .6 pound drop from where I was).

I'm hoping to see a bigger decrease for my next weigh-in, as TOM is next week, and I usually flux within a pound due to that.

I'm going to start setting smaller goals for myself rather than "I want to weigh XXX by 2017". Thinking of looking for at least a 1/2 pound decrease per month. Also thinking about cutting back on my weigh-ins from once a week to once a month.

Plan for 2016
- Smaller goals, starting with 1/2 a pound per month minimum.
- No less than 2 hours a week for working out.
- Veggies with every dinner.
- No more than one alcoholic drink (mixed drink or hard cider) per week (may be altered for holidays i.e. - Saving up the weekly drinks to have multiple at an event).

These goals will be included at the end of every journal for this year, with commentary on how well/poorly I'm doing with sticking to them.

Happy Sunday!

I love that you are making a plan for 2016, make sure you include in your plan goals that are obtainable by you at this point in your life. I would suggest that you continue to weigh in once a week as this gives you accountability for all your hard work and eating plan for the week. By going off for a month and not weigh in you tend to be off point. ( I am speaking from experience. Me and my scale didn't relate for 5 months and my weight went up to 190 lbs., first sign was tighter clothing but I still ignored my scale.) I am proud to say that starting 2016 the love affair with my scale is back on and I check in with my scale once every week. We plan on having a date every Sunday morning around 8 just before we enjoy breakfast. (Smile this is good stuff). No matter the conversation we have I will put on my workout clothing, turn on a workout DVD or lace up my sneakers for a walk. I know he will miss me until we meet again next Sunday, but as they said in the movie "When Harry Met Sally", I will have what she is having. Keep the faith and keep working towards your goals. No time for guilt or defeat time is precious and you can't afford to waste a moment of it. Final comment for every bullet point of your plan you may want to add a reward for success or disciplinary action for failure. Accountability is a good thing.
