Heather MacD's Journal, 09 Jan 24

Note: I was planning on updating my weight once a week on Sundays but this is quite important to me to not post...

I am still waking up from my usual painful night of sleeping (it's my spine & hip) and did my usual first thing which is test my blood. Then I realized I haven't updated my app since *gasps* 11/27/2023. Updated that.

Fasting blood sugar today is 5.7 mmol/L. Happy with that number.

And then I stepped on the scale...

and did it 5 more times before grabbing my phone to take the picture.
Every single time it came out with the number in the picture.
I am in awe. I have not seen the 220's for minimum 35 if not more years.

Fricken 229.4 lbs baby!!!

*picks up jaw from floor*
Stunned but very, very, very happy!!!

So thankful I decided to give the Carnivore diet a proper go again. Proof is in the pudding, so to speak...
104.1 kg Lost so far: 10.3 kg.    Still to go: 13.3 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.
Losing 1.0 kg a Week

Congratulations on your progress! Curious, are you doing any extra bloodwork monitoring while following carnivore to keep tabs on things like cholesterol and sodium levels?

Way to go Heather - keep up the great work on the blood sugars, especially while the body is suffering that kind of pain!!!! It's amazing what chronic pain does to our blood sugar, cholesterol, our nervous system - it changes changes everything in our lives!! I'm suffering right there with ya girl!! oooh and ignoring the scales, while busy living life, makes them love you more LoL

@StomachMonkeys. I had blood work done at the end of November for my visit to my Diabetes Doctor. I have an appointment in March/April so I will be doing the necessary bloodwork for that about a week before the visit. Most likely I will continue this diet through till then considering all the positive changes I am noticing in my body such as Inflammation. I ran into a neighbour yesterday and she asked if I had changed my diet b/c to her my skin is clear, my eyes are bright and clear and then she asked about my legs (circulatory issues) and I showed her. She said that compared to what she remembers from summertime, the inflammation has gone down drastically as in my ankle no longer looks the size of my knee.
