I was 400 lbs when I became a type 2 diabetic in 2010. I lost 150 lbs shortly thereafter (took about a year) after proving to my Dr that I could drop my A1C in a month (10.1 fasting to 6.4 fasting). I was good for about 10 years. But due to a mental break and other life/health issues, I took a nose dive on taking care of me. Last year, I was put on Janumet after becoming ill on Metformin and began my journey with an Endocrinologist on Halloween.

I am a die-hard low-carber. Two months ago I thought I couldn't/wouldn't dive into the keto world or even go further into the ketovore/carnivore worlds. Well, the Fat Secret app has changed my thought patterns on that! The pie chart at the end of the Food tab really helps me stay focused on being high fat, moderate protein & low carb. Some days I'm bang on & other days I'm not but I also don't beat myself up over it either. But I have noticed I've flipped the switch on my cravings since starting this new road just over 2 months ago.

And in my postings, I will be including my daily fasting blood sugar numbers. It helps to keep me proactive on my health. Well that plus a whole lot more. I will be posting other things related to my personal health so that I can go back and review later on when I want. I figure when we share certain aspects in our journal, we not only help ourselves but can help other's too in all of our journeys. It will be a roller-coaster ride, that's for sure.
