Fritzy 22's Journal, 31 Dec 23

It's really difficult to get back on track after I allowed myself many things I NEVER eat for an extended period of time. Yesterday I going through the fridge and cupboards looking for anything snacky. Decided to finish off the cheddar cheese, about 4 ounces left. I had wanted to have a slice, less than an ounce for breakfast. That lasted less than a week. But other than that there wasn't anything else that interested me although I thought about making a bowl of cream of wheat.

Today is the 2nd day of measuring on teaspoon of sugar for my coffee. Not crazy about it but hopefully I'll get used to it.

Resting the knee for most of the day seems to be helping the knee pain. Although I did 2200 steps yesterday when I goal was 500

The first sentence grabbed me. I am eating better but I know there will be days when I can't. My mom loved cream of wheat. I can't have it. She gave it to me when I was a baby and I ended up in the hospital. So I have no idea what it tastes like. Good job on the knee.

Getting back is the problem for me as well. Sounds like you did fairly well.

Fritzy, have you ever tried stevia? It's a natural sweetner. I have come to like my coffee less sweet, since I reduced the amount of flavored creamer. You will probably do so over time.

We are both there Fritzy. I weighed today but didn't log it. I go to nutritionist on Tuesday so I'll weigh again on that day. I thought I was doing really good and in most ways I am. I had a few to many nuts yesterday. I had to put them in freezer so I wouldn't get into them. It's hard to stay on track. I did manage to get to gym 4xs this week but since Sydney came home yesterday it will be difficult. I'll go on class days but on days I do my own w/o, I'll just do it at home. It's sad watching her being weak and having so many potty accidents. We are just giving her lots of love but I know she doesn't understand...it's making me stress which is triggering my eating.. Glad your knee is feeling better 💜

Thanks Morticia. I keep cream of wheat in the house because I like it when I have an upset stomach. But I like it with lots of sugar so a box of 12 packets lasts about a year. I know oatmeal is healthier. I don't like it as much but I can eat without sugar if I slice up a banana and add chopped walnuts. Until I see the specialist resting the knee makes the most sense since it hurts more when I go for a walk or do too much around the house and yard

Thanks Liv! I actually did okay except for a few days when I had lots of stuff I ordered from nuts.com for Christmas gifts, then ate a bunch of the stuff myself (then had to order more for gifts!). For 3 or 4 days I ate malted milk balls, cheese popcorn mixed with caramel corn (lots of it!), and almond bark. So a few horrible days. Otherwise, I was actually ok for Christmas dinner.

Thanks Sherry, I haven't tried Stevia. If they have packets at coffee shops I may try it. I remember looking it up once on WebMD that potential side effects included heart attack and stroke risks. Of course I have those risks being overweight!

Thanks Diana, I'm glad Sydney is home. I used to it odds of potty pads at Costco (100). I would usually use 2 and place them on an old throw rug I didn't care about because the pads leak through. Hopefully she will calm down and feel better once she knows the pads are okay for her to use. I stress eat too soit helps when I can't find anything bad in the house. The knee issue stresses me out. My doctor mentioned the meniscus when I showed him the place that was hurting

Thanks moko! The resting is helping. Now when I get up I'm not even limping for the first 3 or 4 steps. But I'm get tired of resting. I'm seeing things that I need to take care of. I've been doing laundry and put the dishes into he c she as her but I need to vacuum the whole house and mop the floors and clean the stove. Ill try to do as much as possible tomorrow. Usually after 40 minutes of moving about the pain starts. But maybe I'll be better after days of lots of rest!
