Fritzy 22's Journal, 31 Dec 23

Setting my weight goal for 2024. Last year the goal was 1 pound a week. If I had managed that I would be in maintenance. But I did fine in January and February and then I don't remember what happened. So for 2023 I'm only down 13-14 pounds. But still down for the year. So I will try the same goal, it really should be possible especially if I am able to start walking again. So the goal is to either reach 140 or lose 1 pound a week for as many weeks as I can.

It's going to be tough. I need to go to the grocery store either tomorrow or Tuesday. And I'm craving really bad things! Like warm French rolls or ciabatta rolls with lots of butter. Or Hawaiian dinner rolls. So I need to make a list before going to the store. No bread in 2024, except once in awhile when I make half a sandwich using bread I don't crave for anything else. I have a loaf of potato bread and oat nut bread in the freezer that I use for toast or sandwiches. Trying to give up toast in 2024, will have to see how long that lasts. Finished the last of the cran grape juice. Giving that up as well. I need to learn to like drinking water

French Rolls and Ciabatta Rolls sounds really good to me too. I am also trying to make good changes too.

Lots of changes. Good luck You lost last year. You can do it again. I give up things as well but some people just limit the amounts

Thanks Morticia! Bread is my biggest weakness! If I ever reach maintenance I may add it back on occassion, but until then I just need to avoid it.

Thanks Liv! One of my goals is to keep carbs under 100grams so I really need to avoid juices and bread. There are somethings I can actually eat in small portions. I remember making 1/4 grilled cheese sandwich more than once. Some things all I need is a little taste. But I know which foods I over eat

I am also going to store to stock up on raw vegetables. It is my go to snack. I’m still dreaming of chocolate and sugary things but I just can’t control my intake so better to not go down that road…I also crave bread. Have you ever tried low carb tortillas? I eat Guerro tortillas which only have 50 calories, 2 net carbs, and lots of fiber. They have the most flavor in my opinion. I make turkey wraps with them, as well as use them when I make Mexican food for my husband. We can do this!💜

Thanks Diana! When I was a kid my mom always kept cleaned celery, carrots and radishes in a covered dish with water in it so we would snack on raw vegetables. I may try that. I've never looked for low carb tortillas but I may check them out. I think drastically reducing my bread and sugar intake will make it easier to meet my daily goal of less than 100 net grams of carbs. After finding the delicious Asian salad dressing by Ken's Steakhouse I am loving making the salads with chicken in it for protein. But I'm afraid I'll get bored of it so need some other options. I'm hoping to start stir frying again.. A new Costco recently opened about 30 minutes away. I may renew my membership and buy some frozen mild fish and maybe even shrimp so I don't just eat chicken all the time. We will both do good this year and you are way ahead of me! But I know maintaining an be just as hard as losing, maybe even more difficult. I hope Sydney is doing better todsy.
