Fritzy 22's Journal, 10 Nov 22

I think I am going to start weighing just once a week starting Saturday. I've been working so hard trying to get below 189 so I can have a molasses cookie! Even with no food after about 2pm it just isn't happening and weighing daily can be so frustrating.

No rain today but it is colder than yesterday. Hope to get out for a walk this morning. I ordered some good walking shoes from a running store in the next town. Tiny little store so they don't keep a big inventory. Had to order my size and they called me yesterday to say the shoes have arrived so I'll go pick them up today.

I am also contemplating this dilemma. I am not sure. When I do not weigh in daily I tend to slide and that is not good either. I think I just have to work on getting comfortable with small bump ups here and there

My strategy is to weigh everyday, but if the scale looks like it's gonna land above my weight from the day before, I hop off and try again the next day! 😅

We only have one shoe store here now.

I used to weigh myself everyday and it did keep my head in the game. I haven't been as diligent this time but losing slowly. Glad your shoes came in.

Thanks Liv - I normally need to weigh daily to keep on track. But I'm doing good with walking and eating right now and I'm tired of waiting for coffee until after i weigh myself. I swear the scale goes up at least 2 pounds after my morning coffee. This way I won't worry about it every day. We'll see. Thanks Arianna - Even if I weigh every day I don't post the weight daily because it will go up and down just percentages of a pound. I usually post my weight when it goes down, unless it goes too long. I don't think there is a shoe store in my tiny town. The next town over has a Famous Footwear and a Big 5 plus a small JC Penney. So plenty of places to buy shoes there. I do like supporting the little store that is selling me the walking shoes since it's locally owned. The owner told me they can't get Asics shoes (that's what I currently have) because they place such small orders.

Thanks Mom - I'm looking forward to having new shoes and the shoe store even measured my foot and watched me walk to help figure out what I should get.

Good to hear that you are doing well. I bought two pairs of winter shoes from on-line and, am excited to wear them in the upcoming winter. Compared to my height, my foot size is big, but it is okay even though sometimes I wished I would have small feet. Also, daily weighing doesn't bother me at all. It became a habit after morning BM. I appreciate my body. Even though I couldn't take care of it well for a long time, my body was always loyal to me and kept me safe from some life-threatening health issues. My body deserves respect and a healthy life-style from me. In a nutshell, checking body weight means greeting to my body, like "Good morning!" 😄 Fritzy, I hope you stay warm. 💖

I bought my Asics on Amazon. If you saved the box from your last pair, you can find the same model number and a variety of colors.

Thanks Anne - I order lots of stuff online but my physical therapist suggested I go to the store and have them suggest something for me considering all my pain issues in my thighs, calves and hips. When I weigh daily I get obsessed with weighing, sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes not so much. A while back I weighed once a month and that worked - for about a month or two! Thanks Bananas. I could buy the Asics at Famous Footwear but wanted to see what the running store suggested and I just bought from them. The shoe is Topo Phantom 2 with a rounded toe which I like. The most expensive walking or running shoe I've ever bought. Just checked them out on Amazon and they are a little cheaper but not much, $134.94 vs $140. I like supporting the local store. I just got back from picking them up and am going to try them out with a quick walk with Bobby.

It has rained all night and will all day. I was thinking of you wishing I could send some your way. A molasses cookie sounds yum! Gingerbread is my fave but finding gf ones that taste good is hard and don’t want to make. Lol How exciting about your shoes!:)

Thanks Navywife - I've decided I don't want to eat a cookie (just allowing myself one) until I get down to the next pound. It's taking too long! They make these cookies in the bakery department of Raley's - one of the local supermarkets. I don't buy them often but love them. I walked about 30 minutes with Bobby yesterday in the afternoon - he was surprised but happy. Have to break the shoes in. Thanks 1Jazzy - I do IF - I have for years for the most part. I do my eating early in the day. Usually from 6am until 2pm. It works for me because I don't like to cook and this way I have only 1 or 2 meals a day.

I would be in trouble if the bakery department at my local supermarket made gf gingerbread! lol You have great control!:)

Navywife - the grocery store I go to has a great bakery department. I love the molasses cookies. They used to make a pineapple bundt cake that I loved. Never see it anymore but sometimes they have a pineapple upside down cake which is one of my favorites! They also make strudel fingers (I think that's what they call them) that I try to avoid. Normally I try to skip the bakery department altogether. So far I've only had one cookie!
