Fritzy 22's Journal, 06 Jul 22

I need to set my next weight goal, but I have never had a blue line on my profile before! I thought that setting several smaller goals would make it easier to achieve than a big goal of 60-70 pounds. But it still took me 6 full months just to lose 15 pounds.

That’s not a terrible pace. And when you lose more slowly you may be more likely to keep it off

Thanks Cindy, Morticia and Mac_Rose. I've lost 10 pounds since June 14th. I lost the first 5 by March I think then was up and down. I started a low fat WOE around the 14th and that's when I started losing a fraction of a pound every day. It's better for me to eat low fat after having my gallbladder out last year. I try to do intermittent fasting, not eating after 2 or 3pm but have been struggling with that, getting hungry in late afternoon. I've been having a can of tomato soup most afternoons - no fat and 5 grams of protein and it fills me up.

Honey, that averages out to just under 2#/week. That's 100#/yr if you figure the extension. You're doing fantastic! Don't be afraid to give yourself credit. You've figured out the puzzle. You Go Girl! 💞

The scales is going down so the is a good win. So you are doing great. Slow lose make it more likely you will keep it off. And keeping it off is what we want to do. Keep up the good work and go for it.

Congrats on the blue line!! Funny how such a trivial thing, really, (seeing the marker change, not the weight loss itself) can be such a motivator. I like that tomato soup idea, too. Gonna have to try that soon.

Thanks Kat! SLYONE - Honey? I bet I'm much older than you at 67. I am looking at the year to date. I set my goal on January 1 and was able to lose 5 pounds by March or April. The 10 pound loss was really quick but it has slowed down. That happens to me sometimes when I change an eating plan. I remember losing 16 pounds in a month when I gave up all processed foods during that time. Then it slowed to 7 pounds the next month. Then I couldn't do it any more. I appreciate the kind and supportive words Thanks Ridemariel! Thanks Scott - I did the same thing. I lost 50 or so pounds in 2017-2018 and gained it all back in about 6 months. Thanks Nana Dee - It is nice to see the scales moving down for a change! Thanks Are! Thanks Rumba - The blue line is a huge motivator. That's why I haven't set a new goal yet. The tomato soup is so good! I'm sure I'll get tired of it, but I am enjoying it now around 3-4pm. Ginome - I could never eat a double cheeseburger period. I try for portion control. Having 1/2 tuna sandwich today.

Fritzy, nope we are within a year of the same age. I'll be 67 next month. I just heard myself talking to me. Then the "honey" popped out. Lol! We've got this.
