Bobby got skunked this morning at 1am. I woke up and realized I had slept through the fireworks that I can usually see from my deck. He wanted out and I turned on the lights on both sides of the deck and looked out and didn't see anything. Usually I rattle the screen door before I open it to let any critters get away. I didn't see the skunk but when I let him out he ran towards the underneath part of the deck. I am on a hill so there is lots of room to stand up on one side (high enough for deer) but on the side by my bedroom it is just high enough for a skunk to hide. A few seconds later Bobby was in the yard area rubbing his face against the dirt and then ran up to the door with him foaming from the mouth. Poor guy. So I was giving him a bath and washing the quilt he decided to lay on and rub himself all over really early. The house still smells, even if rooms with carpet that I keep closed because of pets. I guess the odor is coming up from the vents.
Today I will get back to low fat eating after 2 days of having ground beef. For some strange reason I have been loving Campbell's tomato soup. I have been eating it for a late lunch since intermittent fasting isn't working late in the day for me. I just love it! I bought a couple cans before my gallbladder surgery thinking I would have bland foods or liquids for a week or two. I don't think I had bought any in over 30 years but now I've bought it twice at the grocery store.

Thanks Morticia - there was more drama. I was rinsing Bobby off by pouring water over him in the bathtub with a big clear glass dish. I dropped it and it shattered into a thousand tiny pieces. So at 2-3am I was doing laundry, picking glass out of the tub, drying Bobby off with a towel. Bobby was reluctant to go outside a few times today. The skunk smell is still out there, I think the deck steps or side got sprayed. Bobby was sprayed twice before he was a year old. Ever since them if I let him out when it's dark I say "be careful". He knows what that means so he goes I slow. I didn't say that when I let him out at 1am.
