My sincere hope for you is to improve your sleep habits. I once had a horrible sleep pattern as well. I broke it by implementing a structured sleep/rest pattern ( no naps/ no iPad in bed and lights out by midnight at the latest). There were other new habits including walking a couple of km each day as well. Consider going on google to find new sleep habits for yourself. Meantime, sleep 💤 sleep 😴 for

I didn't sleep well last night, but I rarely do. I was waking about every hour or two and then falling back to sleep in 10 or 15 minutes or so. The pharmacist told me it is very common for retired people to have insomnia. 8 hours of sleep would be good for me - don't know how long you had in between each portion of sleep.

Yes agree. I just have to get sleep under control. I need a new sleep mask & head gear as I have sleep apnea, and that might help. But the real problem is, if I go to bed before I am actually tired, I end up staring at the ceiling for hours on end until I finally get sleepy enough to doze off or it is morning and I get up. Having something to eat & a hot drink at 1am really helps me to fall asleep. But that becomes another problem if I have eaten all my calories for the day, and end up grazing.

It might be genetic. I remember as a 5-6 year old staying up late, hiding half-way up the stairs watching TV till 10pm, or until I got caught.
