mrsmole's Journal, 30 Jun 14

Back in the green. I'm going to try to avoid the peaks and valleys of both triumph and despair. My effort going forward is to take these readings in stride. Back in the green? That's nice, dear. Back in the yellow? Oh, too bad, dear. No more cartwheels on good days, but no more sharpening razor blades on bad days. I like an even keel better.

I'm not saying I don't secretly hope the dang scale doesn't go down, of course, but I promised myself my good mood would no longer rely on it.

I also realized that I still like a goal of some sort. I wrote down a pound a week for July. If it happens, great. If not, then there's always August. But without anything to strive for, a goal-oriented person like me feels a little lost at sea. The difference now is that I will not obsess and have a tantrum if I don't achieve it.

Weighing in at 204.5 this morning means about 199 by August 1st. Being a birthday month for me, it will be a challenge, but again, not a tragedy if underachieved.

Love your attitude! Good for you going down! Stressing just makes it harder.

Mrsmole, you are looking for a goal. Here is mine since my weight is close to my stated goal. Mine is to get fit and get rid of this flab. I do believe you can find that fits you..mine is up to be borrowed.

Wholefood, since I'm still a 205 pound woman, I know that there are about 60 pounds still to shed. I'm fine with still looking for numbers for the next 50 odd pounds or so. When I hit 160 or so, I'm willing to throw the scale away and just look at how my clothes fit. But for now, I have a dangerously high BMI and some other numbers that need work. Good advice eventually, though!

Mrsmole, you are doing great. Stay on your plan and that scale will slowly go down. I sincerely believe that slow is good.
