!! Ate one weighted 12 oz meal yesterday for a measured 321 kcal and 0.5 oz of fat. I had some bowel movement, so my belly is empty, and still gained 2.3 lbs!! How is that possible? I have two scales giving me the same result.

water retention?

Must be, but that's a lot of water! My other theory is that COVID-19 has made me so vegetative that I have mastered photosynthesis.

32 oz of water weighs 2 lbs! I hear you, I have determined I can manufacture calories simply by extracting trace elements from the air I breathe. I can manufacture the equivalent of a snickers bar just by breathing in some instances.

You may be gaining muscle which is the same weight as fat. So you might have to swap out the weigh ins and look at inches for now. As your muscle builds your fat and weight will decrease.

My only exercise is pressing the remote control buttons, so muscle gain can be ruled out.

What did you eat? Was it high in sodium?

I’m guessing when not eating enough your stomach/body stores the food because your not eating enough eat small meals every 3 hours until 8 pm

It takes time took me a year to go from 268 to the 185.5 I weighed in at today

depending on what you are, ie: alot of veggies, could be water retention.

You have 26 feet of bowel. Your stomach may be empty but your bowel probably isnt

I don't know but FS glitched in the middle of the night and I sent a comment to someone and I had your profile pic. I had to screen shot it to show my hubby. 😆

Weight loss is a mystery. There is no logic to it. It seems logical. You eat less, you loss. But weight loss is not a straight line, it’s a freaking zig zag. I was eating 900 calories a day and the scale wouldn’t budge. Except to go up! My doctor said I want you to eat 1200-1400 a day! I thought she was tripping!! I am a 65yo woman with a catastrophic back injury, so I have been sedentary a lot. Raising my calories changed everything. My weight is easier to manage. I sleep better. On FS you can figure on what your required calories are. I hope it can help you.

When this happens I sleep longer. Voila! The scale goes toward the right direction.

Take a hot bat with sea salt or Epsom salts. You'll losse a few lb of water. Let your body sweat out after bath.

Happens to me all the time. Stay the course, that drop is just around the corner. 🌈

I think I’m doing the same mistake. Having half to 2/3 of the calories I’m allowed. No weight loss for 4 days now. Will try eating more tomorrow

Thank you for all the interesting comments. I was hoping to hot my goal weight before starting to eat more. I got so close!
