Predictable weight gain after several big eating days at Thanksgiving. Will target 1200 per day during the week with larger 'indulgence' days on Saturday and Sunday, and 'adjustment' days on Monday and Tuesday to get me back on track with a 1350 daily calorie average. That will be for December only. Will work up to a higher daily calorie average target in January.
98.5 kg Lost so far: 48.9 kg.    Still to go: 5.5 kg.    Diet followed: Poorly.

Yes. Predictable gain, but you are the master of that. Can see it in your weight loss chart... I'm still amazed at the control you have of it. Hey, I saw you mention to Keld that you were going to be doing indulgence days, but I thought that was kind of what you've been doing with MIT Carson Chow. They seem very similar in principle if not name. No? Am I missing something?

They are very similar it seems. Keld pointed out that my "guests in town" over-indulgences followed by subsequent fasting to get back on track was largely his Indulgence program. But I was not planning the weekends... they just happened as a result of unplanned going out to eat. Keld plans for a big indulgence day each week. This is what I am going to plan for. I'm going to target 1200 per day during the week and then ensure I eat about 3800 on the weekend (either a 2600 Saturday or some combination of Saturday and Sunday). If I end the weekend at or under a 1400 running average, I will begin with 1200 again on Monday. If I'm over, I will eat 600 or whatever it will take to get me back on average. This is not quite Keld's full indulgence plan (which would require me to do 3600 on Saturday), but I want to end the year at a 1200 per day deficit. I plan to migrate to the full indulgence plan in January as I tackle the final 20-25 pounds.

Ahhhh. Ok. I get it. That plan is my backup plan if I hit any kind of major stall / roadblock. I think both what you've been doing, and Keld's indulgence days are both excellent approaches for forestalling... er, well stalls. :D

Thanks. I stumbled upon the eating more, then fasting deal as a way to kick start things. And then I read about the Intermittent Fasting in April and then learned from Keld. So, both organically and through study, I know it works!

You geeky guys and your numbers - I so wish that the math worked for me. Oh yes I know the MATH would work but I have this quirky thing called EMOTION which kicks me in the butt every single time. I am so happy for you Bill, yes your weight went up a tad but I know you will do 'your thing' and be right back down in no time. I just wish I could suspend the emotional crap and get on with business. I do so dislike this Christmas season, but there is always something to 'upset' me. Sigh. Put me in suspended animation please or cryo sleep or some such crap and let me wake up at my goal. That would be fabulous :) Rob, I love the spreadsheet thigie you mentioned, it makes me smile that you are using a spread sheet to predicted your weight loss and clothes sizes. I'm not too good at math but spreadsheets do all that for you, don't they, so maybe I could work it out. Sigh. I need a donut now :)

Hi Isabel. I succumb to that myself. I did it yesterday. The mood manipulation for me was a few drinks at the end of the day. Next thing you know, I'm eating extra snacks. I did it with my fasting day today in mind. Maybe you can have your emotional nibbles at times with the knowledge that you will have one or two days a week that you know will get you back on track. Hope that works but sad that you are sad at this time of year.
