jeannieselby's Journal, 01 Dec 20

So this was the photo I sent to HR from the ER on Sunday night. She finally heard back from the Workman's Comp Commission on our WFH protocol. If I choose to pursue a WC Claim, they would come out to inspect my home. If they determined that the tiled floors are a trip hazard, then THEY will go after my landlord's Home Owner's Insurance to pay for my claim. Good Grief!

I thanked her for finding out, but am not pursuing WC! I am working for God's sake, and have been since reporting the trip & fall. I only went to the ER because I wasn't taking any chances on a DVT after the swelling got worse, and the bruising and red patches covered my calf from knee to foot.

The Cephalexin seems to be working as the swelling and pain are slightly better this morning. Fingers crossed I can make it working until 6 p.m., cuz baby I'm so freaking tired!!!

Ow!!! That looks so painful! Glad you got meds to help! Well, on another note...if you were to pursue WC at least they would intervene on your behalf. I know it's all a hassle! Heal quickly!!!

Check everything before you refuse WC. You might need it to pay for ER visit or might need physical therapy later. I had medical insurance but had to go through WC for certain treatments. You regular insurance might require you to switch to WC for injury. Hope you feel better soon. Take care.

Sorry you are going through this. I agree with Melete. Protect yourself. In some states you have a very short time to file. It wouldn't hurt to call and attorney just to get some general information. Insurance Companies will protect themselves not you.

TRy soaking some towels in Epsom salts and applying to your leg. If you can get in a tub with Epsom salts that would be better but it looks like that might be a little difficult.. you really did a number. I’m so glad it wasn’t any worse.

Ouch! That looks painful! I’d make the same choice. No reason to get the land lord involved and risk being evicted.
