oxdrover's Journal, 09 May 20

After a trip to the doctors to have my blood drawn and check my electrolytes, I am back on medications for diabetes type II, and a lasix pill (water pill) so my legs are no longer swelling---some of my weight was me holding water in my system so probably haven't really lost any more weight just gotten rid of the water that was upping the reading on the scale.

But I will TOTALLY ADHERE TO MY DIET at this point so that I can get rid of the diabetes medicine by dropping the weight.

Type two diabetes is almost entirely dependent on being FAT and as an Advanced Practice Nurse and diabetic teacher I know that and have just let the weight creep up then lose some and then let it creep up again. I KNOW BETTER AND I HAVE TO DO BETTER especially at age 73. I am going to drop another 49 pounds and keep on a reasonable diet not too fast, not too slow.

Am staying locked down on my farm, not going out, on line church and phone calls to friends None of our living history demonstrations with my friends. This was my team of Scotish Highland oxen at Old WAshington State park in Arkansas

Yea don't have the boys any more that was a few years back, right now we are not doing any of our living history events now with the covid thing, but I do have a young white steer that is dog gentle. He was born prematurely and raised in my kitchen in a dog crate. He only weighed 25 pounds when he was born--a 7 month baby--couldn't even stand for 6 weeks...but he thinks he is a PEOPLE and will take him to the events so the kids can pet him. At least I am not LOCKED DOWN IN AN APARTMENT I have my cattle, dogs, and kids and plenty of pretty pastuires to walk in. Was sick all winter but doing much better now and feeling good for an OLD WOMAN 73 LOL
