59Carol's Journal, 29 Mar 19

This is a satisfying big drop. Clearly I am no longer grazing on meat and cheese platters! I finally started cooking for myself again and the weight just started dropping.

I hadn't been swimming when my husband was ill because to drive to the pool and swim for an hour, buy gas, etc. ended up taking around 2-3 hours. I didn't want to be gone from home so long. I swam last Wednesday and will again this morning. The water feels so darn good. My goal is swimming once a week. I used to swim 3 times a week when I was working. Today I am going to Edmonton so I will throw a swim in there as I am passing through town anyways. My granddaughter is going to join me and we will make the drive to Edmonton together. It will be fun!

Saturday night one of the girls is turning 40 so we will celebrate her birthday and on Sunday we will meet with the people who work with us to make T-shirts for the North Country Fair. This meeting usually takes place mid February but that was impossible this year. The Fair is June 20th so we still have time. I will drive home on Monday.

Since I am travelling I decided to weigh in before leaving home. Next week it will be a nine day week before I weigh in.

I absolutely love swimming. My granddaughter enjoyed the water. She is in a swim club where she swims 4 times a week for 2 hours each time. Our little swim was just a little fun time for her! We had sushi at a restaurant on the road and it was delish and then we listened to a story tape for parts of the drive. All enjoyable. She told me that she got to do 3 of her favorite things today-- swim, sushi and be with Nona. Made my heart glad! She is 14 years old.
