Friday night is my "anything goes" night. I eat well all day and save myself some calories for the night, but I don't count. Last night it was a lovely pinot grigiot, grilled steak, some bread and butter, and the little lava cakes from Costco. Surprisingly, no vegetables, LOL! (In my defense I had a big salad for lunch.) And... I'm down a couple more ounces. One thing that has changed for me is how much I eat. It's not the quantity, it's the quality. A small piece of really well-cooked steak; some very fresh French bread; those little lava cakes... all good. I'm even using a smaller wine glass, LOL! Train the brain... eat well, eat small. No need to binge. I'm chewing slower and taking more time with my food, too, which helps get me to a feeling of satiety earlier.

Today I'll be doing a lot of walking around at a couple of fairs and I hope to burn off another ounce or two (if I can resist the kettle corn).

To me that is the key to being able to enjoy the foods you love. No need to binge out. Eat healthier, sensible most of the time and enjoy the things you love in smaller portions, just not every day. I think you got this.

Portion control is key for me. That way I can enjoy yummy stuff like your dinner last night.

I call mine Guilt Free Friday. I use that day to eat what I want, satisfy cravings so that I can resist the urge to binge during other days of the week.

I do this, too. Last night, calzone from my favorite Italian place. Today, back to the usual stuff except with the last two bites for breakfast instead of a bowl of oatmeal.
