I feel like I've been this weight, or close to it, for a million years. I'm losing this weight ounce by ounce... slooooooowly. It's my own fault -- I'm not moving very much right now due to knee pain. I need some good sit-down exercises! And a magic genie to remove all this gut fat. Ugh.

Consistency is king. Add up the ounces and the pounds take care of themselves. 😀 but when you get that genie, can i borrow him/her once in awhile?

Wouldn't it be great to be able to magically whisk the trouble spots away? I've lost weight in my legs and can actually see a sliver of air between my thighs, but my knees and ankles are still fat. I have an hourglass figure, but the humps are all in terrible places! Flat butt and fat knees. So pretty.

But you are losing and not maintaining or gaining so pat yourself on the back for that - and if you find that magic genie please send it my way after you are through with it!

As long as it's moving downward, it's a win!

The scale numbers, that is! lol having entered into middle age "moving downward" is not such a pleasant phrase.

there is no exercise that promotes weight loss from one particular area unfortunately. yes you can tone what is under the excess and it will look great when you do lose the fat.

Maintaining isn't a bad thing, but I know it can be discouraging. Not being able to move is a bummer. Maybe chair exercises? I remember PBS airing an exercise series with chair workouts.

Pam you are doing great! There are lots of exercises you can do in a seated position!

Pam, just keep plugging away. No one said it was easy to gain weight, but the commercials tell you it is very easy to lose weight. I am certain that you clothes feel different. I put a fleece on today and looked like Sid Caesar....

Pam, I have had knee pain for many years. The docs keep after me about having them replaced. I have been a big guy my whole life, and kind of gave up on things. I topped out at 380 pounds +. A little over 2 years ago, I noticed some signs of lethargy, thirst, and increased urination. As an Advanced EMT I should of realized those signs....I didn't care. One evening after work, I stepped on a dog toy and went down hard. I snapped my ankle. This was on Friday the 13th of May. Due to lousy hospitals in Binghamton, NY. I was sent home by them. I instead went to PA to Guthrie Hospital . They immediately prepped me for surgery. I was an unknown diabetic with a blood sugar of 700. They couldn't operate until that came down. 4 days later, as an inpatient they got it stabilized and operated. In addition to my knees I have a 8 inch titanium rod in my ankle. A week later I was rushed to the hospital again and diagnosed with a record 18 inch blood clot sitting at the base of my lungs. I was given the death sentence that night. Four days in ICU and 9 days in telemetry I miraculously survived. A year later I was in a car accident that should have killed me. The docs said there was no way I survived that. Did some damage to my damaged knees, but no broken bones. While I was disabled, I lost some weight and I felt better. I healed much faster than the docs thought with a 97% heal compared to a 42% they gave me. I meditate every day. I was never religious before, but I started believing. Somehow I got the thought about joining The Guthrie Weight Loss Center. I started going to the YMCA and work out hard. I am now power lifting, and running every day. I told my docs that next year I will enter a 5k run. They all told me that they would be there to see that. I am off all insulin and diabetic drugs. My A1-C is holding steady at 5.0. All of my labs are great, Oh, and I am 60 years old and growing younger. I am down to 322 and dropping and I feel great. I stand behind and support anyone who is going through any battle of life. I wish you luck.

A great way to do some chair exercises are with resistance bands. I also have some knee issues from a torn meniscus a few years back, and resistance bands or loops are a great and gentle way to regain muscle tone. A lot of them you can get in a pack at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx and they might come with instructions or you can look on YouTube for some seated resistance exercises

Wolfie, you are a true inspiration to us all. Rock on! I am 55 and feeling every minute of it at times. Today, though, your testimony got me up walking during my lunch period -- half an hour of a steady gait. I ache, but it's my underused thighs, LOL!

leg lifts should not bother your knee and is good to tighten the belly
