Debbie Cousins's Journal, 25 Jan 18

(THIS WHOLE ENTRY IS FROM WEDNESDAY, 1/24/18) - Of course, today, everything is hurting, back, both knees – so it will be more challenging to be as productive today, but I’m going to give it a go. Still have LOTS of birthday presents to wrap (having a combined party for Jack (my grandson), Chip (my 30yo son) and Alan (my husband) next week. PLUS, I still have 3 loads of clean laundry to fold, the bottom of that pantry to clean, and LOTS of cooking I need to do! Here’s to a productive day!

This has been the MOST productive day I’ve had since early November! I kept track of my “cleaning” and “studying” time yesterday, and here’s the breakdown: I spent 6-1/2 hours CLEANING, which included unloading the dishwasher (which my hubby is usually kind enough to do for me, but he had been sick the night before, so I did it for him), making a batch of “Chocolate Cream Cheese Ice Cream,” (for which I’m working on the recipe), adding a couple food ingredients to the database, responding to several posts by new members of our Christian Community Group, wrapping several presents, cleaning out and organing another small cabinet, and I made a HUGE dent in our “junk drawer” (everybody has one, right?)

That was all before 11am, when my twin friends, Jeannie & Joannie, came over, and offered to help me take down my Christmas tree and decorations! That was a BIG task, and it took a LONG time. We had a ROTATING tree this year that we LOVED, but the lights started going on and off about a week ago (yes, we were still using it then), and finally they quit. My husband went through the 4 different places fuses were, and checked them all, only to find that the tree is “meant” to only be used for about 6 hours at a time – we kept it on ALL day, until we went to bed at night, EVERY day from November 9th (yes, I had it up that early, because I wanted the house already decorated for Christmas on my twins’ birthday for their party!) We have special porcelain photo ornaments that I’ve had made through the years (from York Photo), and each had to be meticulously packed, along with all the “regular” ornaments (organized by size and shape), the “Christmas Kitchen” stuff I have (burner covers, and hanging Christmas towels my mom crocheted), musical décor, lighted garland, hanging musical bells, Thomas Kincaid wall Christmas plates, a beautiful cross-stitched Precious Moments Nativity picture I made years ago (when my eyesight was better), Nativity Stable and all individual Fontanini pieces. (Also, while we were working on other things, Joannie folded my three loads of clothes and put them away!). I only “rested” 3 hours when it was all done, to watch an episode of “I am Jazz” and two episodes of “Shark Tank.” Every other minute of the day was either CLEANING or "studying" on the FatSecret website, reading my Bible, praying, and reading my Joyce Meyers book.

All said and done, I exerted 3,080 calories in “Exercise” yesterday. My new all-time HIGH since joining FatSecret! Here's the picture of the boxed stuff (we decided to toss the tree and just get another one next year). It doesn't look like a lot, but that bottom box holds 64-gallons!
