I can't stand extreme cold or hot. The cold really affects my arthritis too.

Thanks Liv and Morticia. I had to go to the grocery store this morning for sugar (I actually ran out for the first time ever) and couldn't do more than get the sugar and leave. Knee is still hurting and I've got a heating pad wrapped around it. I'm sure ice wou!d be better but the heat feels good

Do you know what is wrong with your knee? Arthritus? Tendonitus? Missing or damaged cartlidge? If it is just arthritus/tendonitus, low impact activity will improve your symtoms. Being sedentary will make it worse. And, exercise and weight loss can make it mostly go away, but it takes time and hurts until you build strength around the knees. Joint damage requires a doctor to fix, and activity/exercise can make it worse. Best wishes.

Oh no! I hope your knee feels better! I love fall too! My hips get stiff at night, like your knee... getting old sucks!🩷🩷🩷🩷

Thanks ClovesC, the cats have finally found other places to sleep (looking for sunny spots inside) but my dog is pressed up against me. I'm just resting as much as possible today keeping the knee elevated and warm. Hopefully, the knee will be better tomorrow

Thanks Penderg. I just woke up with the pain and have been limping today. I'm just resting today but plan on walking again tomorrow. I increased by daily walking alot over the past week, 3-5 miles in hills. If the pain continues I'll see my doctor in order to know whether I should rest the knee or use it more. I know I have arthritis

Thanks Diana! I always seem to feel more aches and pains in cold weather. At least I'm not feeling my usually leg pain, just the knee.

3-5 miles in hills seems like a lot to me, and sounds more like arthritus/tendonitus than joint damage. Walking down hill can be very tough on older tendons. Consider cutting back on the walking and substituting other exercises to burn calories. Squats and leg extensions to build up the knees. Core and upper body work. Again, you're doing great. Maybe just a few changes to soothe the knees.

Thanks Penderg, walking is my exercise. I don't go to a gym. Before I retired and gained weight I loved to hike so I am hoping the walking in my neighborhood will help me as I lose weight. I didn't have knee pain after walking, I just woke up with it this morning. I hope it's just the cold weather but I've been limping all day.

Fritzy if it’s still there in a day or two definitely see doc. I spent so many years disabled thinking all the pain in my right leg that often went from my hip to my calf was caused by the bulging discs in my back. Turns out my hip was basically destroyed. I could have been healthy years ago if i had gone to the right doc. My primary also thought was my back. I sought a different doctor out at suggestion of hubs and he knew what was wrong with me in minutes.

Hope it feels better soon, Fritzy! It won’t hurt to take a few days off if it’s really bothersome.

Thanks YOH. At least I'm not feeling my usual leg pain! Just the knee. Yesterday I couldn't put any weight on it. Today I decided to go for a short walk. Walked 30 minutes and about 2000 steps in a ,mostly level area close to my house.. I wasn't limping too bad but was really slow. I know if I see my doctor he'll send me to get an X-Ray and then tell me I have arthritis, which I already know. I don't think xrays show much unless something is,broken. I'll just keep monitoring it and probab!y, ,eventually go see my doctor..I've never had issues with my knees before

Thanks Foody and YOH. I called my doctor's office and he's out of the office for 2 weeks. Was told to call first thing in the morning to see if any of the other providers have an appointment available. I just want to know if I should be resting the knee or if okay to try to keep walking. I don't think the walk today helped me any. The knee still hurts
