Lindart's Journal, 21 Apr 23

Here I am, back again after about a year. I weigh a little more than I did last year at this time (I haven't entered my current weight yet, will do on May 1). I did get to about 185lbs maybe, last fall. I wasn't counting calories at all, but was on Keto, from in the summer. I got hooked on Dirty Keto, but it just isn't sustainable for me. I like my carbs too much and hate trying to make keto carbs like bread and such with strange ingredients that I have to convince myself I like. So than I just went off the wagon, and onto French Women Don't Get Fat. lovely idea, but clearly I am Italian, NOT French! So along comes Christmas and I throw in the towel and say F it, I'm going to enjoy Christmas. And I wasn't cooking this year, so I didn't want to make any trouble, if you know what I mean. I just enjoyed myself. And then my birthday a week later, and then January where I was sick most of the month not paying attention to what I was eating and didn't care. April rolls around and I seem to care again, also still recovering from about 3 bad colds over the rest of the winter. I did start to exercise a bit during the healthy times and started doing Body Groove which I love. But then got very sick again, now on Prednisone and "aggressive rest". But I am counting calories again before my jeans don't fit anymore. So I don't really care what my goal weight is anymore, as long as I like how I look and I feel good. Goal weights are just numbers. I don't look terrible now, not like I did when I started years ago, but I'm not yet totally happy with how I look. And I'm more accepting of myself the way I am, not angry with myself, or putting myself down the way I did before. I just want to be healthy and happy and able to play with my soon to be 2-year old granddaughter!

Oh my, she IS adorable. It sounds to me like you've already got most of this figured out. Look at this part of your journey as a mini reset. You know you will never be back to where you once were when you first started your lifestyle journey and that's a good thing. You have some health issues to work through but pair that with healthy eating that you know works for you then your battle is all but won. We are all here to help support you however we can, even if it's just with a Green Heart ;)
