HCB's Journal, 09 Jun 15

Greetings Buddies!

So, my latest thing is The Unwich from Jimmy John's! Essentially, it is a lettuce wrap including meat and veggies that ends up being low carb!

Carbs and fat are variable depending upon which one you order and whether you add cheese or mayo, etc. Since I am LCHF, the roast beef lettuce wrap perfectly fit my food diary today!

Anyone else like them?

Words of the Week:
"Hard things take time to do. Impossible things take a little longer."

I am dedicated, determined and diligent.

I'll have to check it out, lettuce wraps aren't so easy to find where I live anymore.

I've been wanting to try that. I think maybe Friday. My son will like the rest of their stuff and I can try my Unwich. Thank you for reminding me.

We don't have a JJ here, but it sounds good, I would definitely try it! Your WoW reminds me of a song by Billie Holiday called 'Crazy He Calls Me' that has the line "The difficult I'll do right now, the impossible will take a little while."

Bill - that sounds great - I will look for some low carb wraps - but I do not do grains so it is hard to find unless I look for Paleo wraps made from coconut.

Love them! Breakfast on them almost daily. What meat do you use? I use Oscar Meyer's oven roasted shaved slices due to the fact that they don't add corn syrup into the ingredients in the oven roasted and the shaved slices have a low caloric value, try using sriracha sauce on your wraps if you like spicy flavors. I make my wraps with avocado slices, broccoli slaw, and fresh cilantro...so a lot of veggies with 4-6 slices of meat which is very filling and healthy.

If I get Jimmy John's it'a usually through a work through lunch at work. Those aren't on the list. I wonder if you can just request it. I know many places you can request no bun and it comes as just the fillings, more like a salad.

@ WFN The Unwich lettuce wrap is part of Jimmy John's regular menu so you can request when ordering for a work event! Look them up online - they will make any sandwich a lettuce wrap - and I so no miss the bread at all since it a white flour refined carb!

Sounds good, I will have to try it...It would be really nice if I can make the transition to a sandwich with lettuce instead of bread....(the alternative for me is to NOT eat sandwiches) :)

I loved reading the comments to your entry as there are so many good ideas. Isn't it funny how we sometimes just get stuck doing the same old same old and there are so many wonderful options for all of us. Thanks for the great entry.
