Fritzy 22's Journal, 22 Sep 22

Made an appointment this afternoon for the Covid booster. Hope it's available today. I will call before getting on the road to be sure they aren't just going to send me away again.

Had 2 leftover pieces of overcooked pizza yesterday. The rest is in the freezer. Not sure what I'll eat later today. Make stir fry brussels sprouts, onions and mushrooms in the wok. But was also thinking of using the rice cooker and adding onions and mushrooms to the rice once cooked. I could probably do both and eat the rice tomorrow.

Hey, I am making pork tenderloin, too! I hope all goes well with your booster shot.

Thanks Morticia - I stopped at Jimboy's for 2 tacos and a coke. I can usually work the calories in now that I no longer get 3 tacos. Don't feel like cooking. Do you end up freezing for later servings? Thanks HCB - it was actually a horror story - not the actual vaccine but calling CVS before leaving to be sure they had the vaccine so I didn't waste a drive into the next town. 30 minutes with a telephone voice response unit sending me all over the place. But at least the vaccine is crossed off my to do list.

Thanks Kenna - I usually get a fever and chills 24 hours or more after the vaccine. Maybe it won't happen since it's a new booster. But I'm expecting later this afternoon to start feeling bad and then hopefully better by Saturday morning. I'm fine right now

Thanks Navywife - we must have been typing at the same time. It's 4:50am, I've been up since 3am. Going to try to go back until 5 before the cats HAVE to eat. Wait that's 10 minutes so I guess I'm up for today.

I think we were typing at the same time. Lol I think the cats will be happy that you stay up. I should be asleep but I like to take in some quiet time with my coffee before the contractor comes pounding outside and the yorkies yapping all day.🤪☕️

Luck with your booster and I hope you do not have to wait again. (I get very ill also Fritzy and have learned that I need a lot of already prepared meals before my shot.)

THanks Navywife - I didn't STAY up until 3am. I go to bed early, usually try to wait until it gets dark so I often get up really early between 3am and 4. Sometimes if none of the cats crawling on me or touching their paw to my face I can sleep until 5. My sister had a yorkie, she was a yapper. But sweet I used to babysit her alot and her pup which is a yorkie pomeranian mix. The yorkie died a few years ago. My sister taught her dogs to bard at everything. When they would stay with me they barked at every animal on TV, even cartoons. Thanks sugarplum, so far no side effects, but the 3 previous times it was about 24 hours after the shot, or even longer.

Mine are sweet too but oh so spoiled by my husband. They get him up all hours of the night. He created it!:) lol I’ve always thought they needed professional training but it wouldn’t matter because he wouldn’t enforce it. They are 6 and 10 now so it is what it is!:)

Navywife - I always had cats as an adult but got a rescue dog when I reduced my hours at work to 5 or 6 hours a day. She was listed as a "senior" on petfinder.com so i thought maybe I'd have her around 3 years. But I had her for 8 years so she was either a very old chow chow when she died or the rescue group just thought she was older. Bobby was my first puppy and I worried so much about training him. - cats are easy, you just put out a litter box and they know what to do. I thought about training classes but he is so smart he does whatever I tell him. He understands me. I have taught him "no bark" and use that often when I take him for a walk. It usually works around other dogs, even deer and turkey, but forget it if he sees a squirrel or a cat he just goes nuts!

Glad you had your chow chow longer than you expected. I like having my dogs ages 6 and 10 so when we lose one we have the other. Kilo is the male 10 and Kloi (Chloe) is the female 6. We say “no bark” all the time. I think they get louder. Lol Bobby is such a good boy that listens! That is great! I love cats too but my husband is allergic to them. Funny thing, my nephew who is 14 wanted us to get a cat when he was 5. We explained why we couldn’t. Eversince, he started buying me Hello Kitty gifts and still does!:) lol He said Hello Kitty would be safe for his uncle. 😂😆

Denise got Covid and shingles last night so I joined her as a walkin. I've done Moderna so far but got the Pfizer latest booster. Got a shingles shot, too. Sort of achy today but tolerable.

Thanks Navywife - the chow was the first dog I had as an adult. I remember telling a friend about her and she told me a chow would kill my cats. At that time I had between 4 and 6 cats. But the rescue group told me she was good with cats. I had adopted a feral mama cat and 2 of her kittens. The kittens were tame but mama never bonded with me but she LOVED the dog, Maggie. She followed her everywhere and slept next to her. When Maggie was eating at her dog dish, mama kitty would go right under Maggie's chin to see what was in the bowl. Maggie never minded. Bobby is VERY food protective. Bill - I hope you and Denise don't feel too bad after the vaccines. I had a fever last night 100-100.9 but no chills this time. It usually takes at leat 24 hours for anything to happen to me after the vaccine. I've heard the shingles vaccine can be rough, making you really tired, etc so I plan on getting it alone in a few weeks.

Navy, my grandfather had a dog named Kilo, too. Dachshund mix. Lived to almost twenty. Fun dog as I remember him.

Maggie sounds like she was very sweet!:) Kloi is like a rag doll. Loves everyone and anything goes. Kilo is a bit grumpy at times.
