We had a wonderful weekend with my parents on Lake LBJ. They were there with their motor home group. They rented a cabin in the park for Leslie and I to stay in. The cabin was very cute and comfy.

I had decided before I left for the weekend that I would not log my food nor would I adhere to my low carb diet. It turned out to only be one meal where I was really bad. There is a café in the town named Blue Bonnet Café. They have been serving great home cooking since 1929 and are known throughout the area as one of the best places to eat. We were not disappointed. I had fried eggs, chicken fried steak with cream gravy, grits, two delicious homemade biscuits with more cream gravy. Then on top of that, the park we stayed at gave us a coupon for a free piece of pie. Blue Bonnet Café is known for their delicious pies. They serve about 15 different types. I chose the German Chocolate Cream pie. It was to die for. I bet I ate more sugar in that pie than I had all of last year! LOL

Later tha night we had steak, zucchini, squash and salad for supper, so that was a good meal. Then Sunday morning we had eggs, bacon and sausage. Another good low carb meal. On the way back home we stopped for my favorite, Mexican food. But I was pretty good and only had a few chips and ordered one of the lower carb choices on the menu. It has become second nature at this point.

My intent was to totally be bad and eat with reckless abandon. I tried and couldn’t really do it. The one meal at the café was more than enough for me. I’m back on track today. To my surprise, when I weighed this morning, I was the same weight that I recoded Friday. No harm done!

I hope everyone else had an enjoyable weekend. Let’s make this week count!!

There were also quite a few beers consumed throughout the weekend. I might have failed to mention that. ;)

Fantastic that you had such a great weekend with family, especially you parents. And that you enjoyed yourself with food but also didn't stray too far from normal and it wasn't a chore to do.
