Today I am a little sore in the shoulder area from doing so many laps in the pool. Yesterday I had a great time with family and friends at BethPage resort. Swam for hours in the huge adult pool. Did a lot of laps each time I went back into the pool over a span of 6 hours. I go for swimming, not sunbathing which I can do here anytime. The resort has a pool for toddlers, one geared toward youth/teenagers and an adult pool. Usually, on weekends, the resort is busy and the pools are somewhat crowded, the adult pool has so many floats that hamper the laps. I do the laps anyway, most of the people on the floats make way for people who are trying to do the laps. So it was especially nice to be there on a weekday, had the adult pool all to myself most of the time. Others did the huge slides. I always pass on them but love watching them go for it. I enjoyed the time and had some s'mores that evening, without the graham crackers. Still stayed under my RDI.

I went to the local fair one evening last week. Got past the funnel cakes, candy apples, and cotton candy with no problem. Corn dogs teased me a little, but I didn't eat any! I certainly enjoyed the hot italian sausage with onions and peppers. Did a lot of walking taking in the sights. Again, time with family well spent. I still lost one pound last week.

Picked up a dozen of blue crabs at the local seafood store this afternoon. Enjoyed four with a can of Coors Light. First beer I have had in over three years, never was a "drinker" anyway. Just was in the mood to have it with the crabs. Crabs are a summer thing around here and this was the first I have had this summer.

Bottom line, had a great time in all cases, stayed under my RDI and did not feel deprived in any way. I call that a win.

Sounds like a great time! I used to love going to the Chesapeake Bay for crabs and cold beer, back when we really had to rough it out on the piers, with a brown paper table cloth, and a piece of a broom handle to crack open the crabs. Those were the days! Such will power to stay below your RDI!

Thank you all for your support! Deb, it is always great to spend time with family. Plus it is even better for me now that I can walk further and play more athletic games with the children in the group. I don't even pretend I like sitting watching others have fun.

DairyKing, we used to do that also when I was a kid. The crabs were huge back then, had a lot of fun. Ah, the memories!

Blues are good. We only get the itty bitty ones here in the oriental markets, so little meat in them.
