After being on the lookout for a good used recumbent exercise bike for the past 3 weeks I got one yesterday. It's a Schwinn model 203, about 8 years old but in like new condition...got it for a fair price and about 1/3 less than the new Schwinns, plus having tried out the new models this one is built sturdier, pedals smoother and more consistent even at high resistance settings. Besides being able to use it manually, it's got a number of programmed exercise routines, the ability to program your own routines, and also heart rate programs where you can set a target heart rate and it'll adjust automatically to keep your heart rate in the targeted zone. This should help my wife out with therapy on her knee plus it's something I will use for sure, got my first workout on it last night.

Overslept this morning, in my rush to get out of the house I didn't weigh in so I'll do that tomorrow morning and record it. My guess is this week will be a wash, I'm not expecting a loss but likely not a gain either. I've been too lax this week, mostly in allowing myself to eat food being cooked off or tested here at work instead sticking to my planned meals, it shows in my lack of progress. I'll get out of this what I put into it, time be more dedicated and stick to my plan to achieve my goals.

You'll be just fine, I just know it! That's awesome about the bike, we've been looking for something for home and just can't decide on what to get, let me know how you like it!!! Isn't it funny (pathetic) how things are so much more expensive nowadays and way cheaper to make? Ahhh, America!

Socolova, you can get some good deals on used exercise equipment especially if you're patient and keep checking the ads every day. The stuff that are great deals get snatched up pretty quickly. I'll let you more about the bike once I've used it for a few days and tried out the bells and whistles.

Glad you found the bike. The interval training is cool. Just begin slowly. No inclines, slow speed and work up gradually.

Great choice buying used. Although 8 years old, that bike probably only has 20 miles on it...lol. Most exercise equipment become clothes racks fairly quickly. Use it in good health.
