DrSueM's Journal, 14 Dec 20

My 31 year old daughter went through Hazelden rehab for 3 mos and came home Nov 20th. She lives with us because she needs help with her 9yo daughter Rory who has nonverbal autism (Rory’s dad killed himself in 2017). We’ve raised Rory (since her mom was using) and I was excited to have help and for Rory to have someone else to hang out with - she’s miserable & bored because her district won’t allow students to return to school. It was going really well. Last night she relapsed & we had to make her leave (she let her supposedly ex-boyfriend who uses in the house last night so it’s a safety issue). It’s 20 degrees and I’m worried about her but we have to take care of Rory. I’m so devastated. Poor Rory. Any Christians out there, please feel free to add me to your prayers.

I will be saying a prayer for your family tonight...Its so very sad what drugs can do to a family..Our Son when he was 19..we found out he had been sniffing paint & gas..it was a total shock...Our family were one of the lucky ones, and he stopped once he knew we knew..today he is 35 yrs old, and a plumber, with a 10 year old daughter..All my prayers to all of you..God Bless..

I am not Christian, but I still will offer my prayers. I pray for you all to have the strength to see this through. The most important victim is Rory. I hope your daughter finds a better way of life.

I'm praying for you. It is especially hard at Christmas. But remember God's grace is enough and he loves you! I keep my own story private, but I went though Domestic violence for 18 years and went to a shelter for safety two years ago this week. Through it all God has been good. We want to be angry and we want to ask why. But God shows his love in ways we do not understand. Trust him!
