Cc— so here are some more on my thoughts on long term weight management. This is about making healthier choices most of the time and less healthy choices once in a while. There should not be guilt associated with the foods you eat. I hate that term “cheat meal”. It automatically sends the message to your brain that you are doing something BAD, that you shouldn’t be doing, and turns on that guilt response which is not good mentally. You have a lot of weight to loose and that takes time. Unless you have health issues like diabetes or some other condition that medically should be considered in your food choices, you can build into your normal food plan an occasional meal that you really enjoy. Just be sure to surround that meal with more judicious choices the rest of the day. You also have to address the portion control issue. I see Some people say that if they can’t pig out on something, why bother.— your choice. And you cannot do it every day or you will end up back on the roller coaster. People become depressed when they think about living without their favorite things forever and the quit. You are going to make better choices for the rest of your life, but you are also going to have a portion controlled serving of delicious shrimp and fries once in a while. One young lady that I mentored started her lifestyle change right at Thanksgiving. I encouraged her to make something to take that was conducive to her goals. When making food choices select things that you don’t often get to eat and don’t make yourself. Skip or severely limit the portion of some of the higher calorie, more common and available choices. Don’t drink your calories. Water or tea. If you live somewhere that still has some decent weather go out for a 15-30 minute walk about an hour after you have eaten. That’s it. You can do this. Happy Thanksgiving

I agree calling it a cheat day is acting like you’re doing something wrong. All of our food choices should be healthy regardless of what day of the week it is and by only allowing yourself to eat something like what you posted once a week leads you to possibly be open for overindulgence in the things that you should not eat . I think proper maintenance of weight should be a daily regime with no cheat days you can incorporate tasty foods and foods that you enjoy into your daily regime while keeping your caloric intake at your goal.

Chicken nuggets and fries? My brother and I loved the one night our mum took off from cooking, because we'd have baked smiley face fries and nuggets.

To reduce sugar intake try using blue cheese dressing instead of ketchup. Virtually no carbs with the dressing and it tastes really good!

It’s just a meal, you’re not married to food are you? Count your calories and move on. I’m having French fries tomorrow!!! Lots of them. 😆 For breakfast 🤣

Kenna has great advice, as always. I eat CICO so any food can be incorporated into my meal plan as long as I stay within my RDI (which I do MOST of the time). You're doing such a great job, and I think it's important to eat the high-cal foods you love sometimes.

When making food choices you have to consider what is this item going to do for me. A 1000 calories of healthier food is not the same as 1000 calories of those Little Debbie things.. they are both CICO— but not the same at all. That constant up and down of your glucose level leads to insulin resistance, diabetes. You are not or should not be onFS to just shed pounds, this is a lifestyle change that will pay off big time as you get older.

Sometimes you have to indulge a little. I find if I'm too restrictive I won't stay on it. I've been in a bad place before where I kept eliminating things where I wasn't sure what was considered healthy anymore. Now I just try to find balance. Nothing wrong with a little splurge every now and then unless it makes you go off the rails completely. Everyone is different. We all can't do keto and some can't eat things others can because of health issues. I support you Cutey!!! Just do you!!!
