br_e_co's Journal, 29 Apr 20

Everything is starting to get to me. Drinking too much, eating too much, and not exercising enough. Tough place we are all in.

Going to mix it up a bit and try to do a body weight routine Wed/Fri/Sun. Though just received our resistance band gear - will experiment with them today as well.

Run through these exercises 3 times:
30 jumping jacks
10 pull ups
30 squats
10 dips
10 inverted rows
10 push ups

Will try to turn around my mood for this Wednesday. It is dreary here, though. Rain all day. Hope all is safe and well where you are, my FS friends.

I did something similar. Instead of every day for an hour at the gym, I'm doing just 30 minutes of lifting three days a week and trying to throw in a few minutes of cardio. It's definitely less than i was doing but better than nothing and hopefully can keep me from losing muscle. Id be happy to maintain. I have my eating under better control the last few days. Hope I stick to it. Good luck! 💪🏼

Hey @JC absolutely. Thanks. I know many have it harder and i feel like I am whining. Just typed it in today’s journal and off it went. But your support makes me feel better about it. We will all move through this moment and into the next. This site is good for that as well. I’m grateful for y’all.

Thanks @DP I see your journals and you’re doing fantastic. I agree it’s definitely not as much as before but a little a day helps.

I understand where you are at. I quit drinking at the beginning of the year. I have been successful except for four days. usually when I am stressed. last night I drank way too much. not happy about it. I am good with my diet unless I drink. then I eat the refrigerator ☹️ today is a new day. fresh start

For sure @deborah! Usually twice a week I would drink but I’m doing it almost every night. And if I do drink, like you, all bets off on what I eat Got to be careful on this for myself. Thanks!

You are doing so well working on your fitness daily! I feel like I am just now crawling out of a hole... It is far more than the calories consumed, but feeling not in great control can impact every area of life. I think you are doing a great thing in just being vulnerable and talking about what you are dealing with. We all get it... If we are honest. I am so thankful for the support here, since it has made all the difference for me on this journey.

Yeah it is hard not to overeat and drink during these rough days. That's good you've admitted that you've done it and now have an action plan to turn things around. If some local parks/trails in your area are still open, you could walk and bike on them when the weather's nice. You'll get the healthy fresh air and probably drink more water. Hope things work out for you! You can do it

I was worried we'd run out of protein with shortages, but President Trump has applied the Defense Production Act (emergency powers by law) to order meat producers to stay open. Okay so they have to be cleaner and more careful. I expect them to deal with it. As a working xray tech, I'm dealing with it, so so can they. Didn't mean to rant...sorry, lol. We can eat wild game but I don't like it because I've eaten it PLENTY and it's not as good as cow, pig, or chicken. Double LOL.

Mellisatwa— there are many things that we do not have control over, but your commitment to your desire to work on achieving your best possible self and health is absolutely within your control. Especially now where obesity, T1 and T2 diabetes, hypertension are risk factors not only for the usual maladies that we talk about but for surviving this Covid19 virus if you were to get it. Keep going— you can do this. Eat as well as you can, nutritional status at this time is beyond crucial. You do not need a gym— be creative, be active, no expensive equipment required. JUST KEEP GOING. DON’T STOP!

Hang with it - when I feel unmotivated I tell myself to just do a little bit...once I start I feel better and just do what I can.

Yes, Kenna! With all the things in life we can not control, how much we put in our mouths or how much we move is within our power!

I'm in that kind of mood too. must be in rain and the grey skies, and the lack of outside enthusiasm that comes with that. Maybe I will get out between showers and do something like this.
