Kenna Morton's Journal, 26 Apr 20

My sister is in the hospital with Covid19. One of her doctors calls me once or twice a day to confirm our agreed upon plan of action and make any necessary changes. Today one of the things he commented on was that the patients that have done the best were those that walked into this with nutritionally sound diets— regardless of their age

Hana— unfortunately there is a difference between coming through something like this and coming through it in any kind of a functional state. Huge difference.

Thanks for the information, Kenna. I know you're super careful about nutrition and micronutrients. I read something the other day that I found interesting--that the much ballyhooed difference between prevalence of flu and some other illnesses in the summer vs. in the winter may actually have something to do not just with issues of ambient temperature/humidity but also with people getting their vitamin D from sufficient sun exposure in the summer and thus supporting immune function. Thanks for the reminder that we can also work on supporting immune function via sufficient exposure to nutrients in our diets. How is your sister progressing?

Kpwcalories—diseases that are spread by droplets transmission or airborne transmission do not like heat. Those finely dispersed particles evaporate more quickly and don’t travel as far and have less viability on hard surfaces. Overall nutritional status is essential to support your immune system.

I am so sorry it progressed to hospitalization. She has been through so much already the last months. I know your heart must hurt, but still you must be in nurse and decision making mode. I'd say stay healthy, but I know you always are the example to all of us of how. 🙏❤️

So sorry your sister is in the hospital with the virus! I hope she feels better soon! God bless her and your family. Also, that's interesting how the people who are doing best are those with healthy diets. Makes sense but I hadn't heard about that much before
