Got in a mile of walking yesterday, even though I had my 4-year old grandson from 9:30am-5:30pm. Together, we pulled weeds and prepared the pots for planting green beans, only we're actually planting PURPLE beans - they will be easier for the kids to see to help me pick them. A guy in our church used to plant them, and they turn green when cooked and taste just like regular fresh beans. Last year, my green beans brought me SO much pleasure and joy! Every morning, I looked forward to looking out on the deck to see whether they'd sprouted and then how much they grew each day. Last year's beans were "pole beans" and these are "bush beans" so I don't know if they'll be as impressive as the 6' high plants I had last year.

Fifth day of completing my two goals of drinking 48-oz a day and walking at least 1/2 mile. That's 1/6th of the 30-day challenge compmleted! Feeling good about my progress and the prospects for the future!
