HCB's Journal, 17 Apr 13

Greetings: I checked out the forecast for the coming week...SNOW. Who are we kidding? Will it ever be warm here in the North Country? It is gray and dreary again, and I have my "happy light" shining.

I am not doing my best at food and exercise...BUT, I am on top of it and know I will be back in full form soon.

I was really motivated for April - and I hate to say the weather bothers me so much; but it does! Snowstorms in April is too much and I get the "Eff it" attitude.

Thanks goodness I have Buddies for motivation, right?

Let's rock it together!

I am dedicated, determined, and diligent!

We have "snow", effing petals from trees that float all over in eddies that follow you into the house...I shouldn't gripe about that, though it is annoying. We're getting some sunshine and frost advisories; weather is rather whacked all over. I particularly enjoyed the hail in the bright sunlight yesterday! Sheesh! You'll definitely rise above, cause you're you, and you're awesome!

HCB it's good to know that I am not the only one struggling with eff it. I can imagine - you're stuck in what seems like permanent winter, you've had a really hard year with your family, it's super hard to have that sunshiny, Jillian Michaels is going to kick my butt attitude every single day. I have been really bad with recording things and I am trying to get back to that. It's hard as hell when you've been doing this for over a year. A year and 3 months - that's how long I have been at it. That's no damn diet - that is for real a lifestyle change. I know you feel the same way, and a lifestyle change is a more broad, sweeping and committed thing than a diet. We are in a lifestyle change! Sometimes it is hard as hell! Sometimes we say eff it! But we get right back up and keep plodding forward, one little moment at a time. When you go to Applebees and you get chicken and vegetables, not wings and fries. When you park your car in the outer reaches of the Lowe's parking lot and you heft your potting soil and carry it out to the car by yourself, all 30 pounds of it. Those are our great little moments. I don't know about you, but the last time I bought potting soil at Home Depot, I carried it all the way out to my car by myself and I swear I could not have done that last year - it took all of my strength. You are a lot stronger, too, since the last 12 months! You are overall doing a great job and a couple of weeks of the blahs is not going to stop you!

Eff this weather. I got to work early today so I could park closer to the building since we are in a FLASH FLOOD WARNING but when I arrived it was raining and lighting so badly that I had to sit in the car for 20 minutes waiting for it to stop. But I did look out my window at the top of a tree to see little tiny buds drinking up all this water. :) Soon, soon.....
