First day or "you bite you write"

The best thing about the tracking for me is that when I weigh and count it all, I can use the daily average to make sure I'm where I want to be. There are some days where I'm a bottomless pit (maybe two days a month) and I like to go big or go home...so if I eat 3000-4000 calories that day, I can see how it raised my daily average. If it gets to 2000 and I'm more interested in it being 1800 right now, I can dial it back for a few days until the numbers are in line. I know you didn't necessarily ask...but counting every day helps you remember and see where you went wrong (or right).

Works for me too. I use the same method as Princess. However I intentionally have higher and lower days. It’s interesting to see how everything affects your weight.

I "write" a day ahead but amend as necessary. (Today, *very* necessary!) But posting weight, journal-keeping, and conversing with other FS denizens keeps me from wandering too far. When I've stopped posting, etc., in the past, it's taking months -- and dozens of pounds -- to get back on track. I can't afford to do that anymore.
