Oh yeah baby! But... if I have so many fast twitch muscle fibers and the same variants as power athletes... why am I growing slowly? Not enough weights? Factors like surgical menopause? Impatient and I am actually growing muscle quickly? Hmm... either way I’m stoked that I could be a power athlete! Lifter, sprinter... I’d be happy with either. Eh let’s go with lifter as I detest running very far. But it looks like I may have to start challenging my oldest to some sprints. Would be good for both of us. Whoever wins gets my snickers :).

Just genetic potential ;). Would be super awesome if I could get there though! I’d settle for halfway to a power lifter lol. Or halfway to a body builder rather. Super fun to consider but not sure I believe 23andme’s report as they missed a few things like my fear of heights, eye color, hair color, brca1 status etc. Did fine out this plus I have a slightly higher risk if AMD later in life. Not a shocker there as my great great aunt was legally blind, most of my family get glasses I’m their 30s & 40s and I just got some at 38 😭.

I took a 23andme saliva dna test :). I thought it would give me way more insight. Interesting though. All the family claiming certain heritages were wrong lol. No real surprises as to health as now I know they don’t test for every variant, just a few for each disorder.

Terra, she declined. But yes, when I bet with snickers ya know things are getting real hehe. I just bought a 6 pack of them so it’s not as if I’m down to my last one. I can always get more next week or the week after :).

My DNA sequencing showed that my muscles composition is more specific for endurance— and I can attest to that as fact. In my remote past I had the occasion to need to hike as far as 15-20 miles a day in extremely hot, rainy conditions for many weeks. Wasn’t easy, but my muscles quickly conditioned and rose to the occasion. Youth also helped I’m sure.

They just give a little information about each section. My ancestry for example says I’m 38.4% French and German. Then in the details it says German is ‘likely’ and doesn’t mention French at all lol. I’d say it’s more of an expensive ‘fun’ test that’s hit or miss. I had the most fun going through the traits section seeing what they got right (wavy and straight hair both because my hair is one or the other) and what they got wrong (green or blue eyes but I have brown).
