HCB's Journal, 07 Jan 13

I almost am back "in the groove" today. I am unhappy with my "Idiot Box" but that is less important now than regaining my routine.

I am planning my meals for the day every morning again, and drinking my water - half my body weight in ounces every day!

I am monitoring fat, net carbs and increasing protein consumption. These are a few of the things that previously helped.

And, moving toward "real" exercise again. Some of you may remember the Achilles tendon issue that started a while ago - I was limping and could barely walk up or down stairs!

The tendon is about 90% well today. I am cautiously optimistic - no impact exercises or jumping yet, but think I can do some cardio again!

So, it seems I am slowly regaining control - I really want to get to my first major goal this Spring.

Still grateful for:

- The people I love who love me back!
- The good health of my loved ones
- My FS Buddies who support and encourage me to continue
- "Butt-kicking" myself to a smaller size today

Very good news! I love seeing everyone making the switch back to on plan thinking and doing. Glad to hear that you are feeling well enough to tackle some exercise again. Don't forget about the benefits of weight lifting - you can easily work your upper body without affecting your tendon at all.

Yeah, just ignore the scale for now (I know, harder than it seems). It sounds like you are doing all the right things. The numbers *will* follow.

I am so happy that you are finally healing. And with your new motivation that "idiot box" will start behaving any day now.

I am upset with my idiot box, too. And I also injured my hip, so I don't know how long that is going to take to clear up, with no running or elliptical. You have really battled your tendon and done everything in your power to heal it. You are going to reach your goals. You are so dedicated and so informed and such an inspiration to me and many others.
